Ekso Bionics provides exoskeletons to hospitals in Florida

May 12, 2021 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Ekso Bionics, a developer of exoskeleton technology for medical and industrial use, has expanded partnership with Kindred Healthcare, bringing EksoNR, the most clinically used robotic exoskeleton, to four of Kindred’s Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals in the US.

The multi-unit order follows a successful pilot program of the EksoNR last year.

EksoNR has become a standard of care within Kindred’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals by driving patient outcomes in neurorehabilitation through early mobility and gait training.

In 2019, Kindred executed a proof of concept in the Houston LTAC market and, after a successful implementation, launched three additional Ekso programs in the Houston-metro area in 2020. [Read more…] about Ekso Bionics provides exoskeletons to hospitals in Florida

Darpa selects Ekso Bionics for development of next-generation exoskeleton

February 18, 2016 by Abdul Montaqim

Ekso Bionics has been awarded a contract to develop a new exoskeleton design for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (Darpa) Warrior Web program.

The new initiative is focused on the creation of a groundbreaking flexible exoskeleton designed to reduce the wearer’s energy output while also assisting with load carriage.

This is the fourth time Darpa has tapped the company’s Ekso Labs division for its unparalleled exoskeleton knowledge to develop a more advanced generation of exoskeletons. [Read more…] about Darpa selects Ekso Bionics for development of next-generation exoskeleton

Exoskeletons: Ekso Bionics launches Europe trials

January 19, 2016 by Abdul Montaqim

eksoproductEkso Bionics says a new randomized comparative clinical trial is currently underway in Europe.

The trial is called “The MOST Study” (Mobility improved after stroke when a robotic device was used in comparison to physical therapy) and is being initialized by Professor Dr. med. F. Hamzei, MD, MHBA, Chief physician of Department of Neurological Rehabilitation, Moritz Klinik.

This study is investigating the impact of gait training with the Ekso GT on functional independence of 80 patients with impaired gait as a consequence of stroke, when compared to conventional physiotherapy alone.  [Read more…] about Exoskeletons: Ekso Bionics launches Europe trials
