The company also won at the German Design Awards.
Kuka celebrated the success by announcing its line-up of products is “convincing from start to finish”.

OnRobot, a maker of end-of-arm tooling for collaborative robots, is celebrating two prestigious wins as the company’s “lizard-inspired” Gecko Gripper was awarded silver at Edison Awards Gala held Thursday, April 4, 2019, in New York City.
The win comes hot on the heels of the Gecko Gripper winning the Robotics Award at the Hannover Messe in Germany two days earlier.
OnRobot says its gripper is set to “revolutionise manufacturing” because of its ability to attach and lift any kind of flat and smooth surfaces without costly compressed air or external power, using easy gripping technology for pick and place applications. Industrial automation solutions provider Omron Automation Americas recently announced the 2017 fiscal year’s winners of its “Distributor of the Year” award at its 2018 Sales Conference during the week of May 21st.
More than 650 representatives of Omron and the company’s channel partners participated in the event, which included new technology presentations, product training, business planning and team building activities.

Although most of the competitions emphasise consumer product design, and often software-oriented products, the industrial product categories are also extensively included.

Kuka has won a prestigious design aware from the Red Dot organisation, which runs a competition which analyses products from an extensive range of industries.
The award that Kuka won was in the Red Dot industrial product design category, and it was for its industrial robot, the KR CyberTech (pictured).
