Global robotics market set to more than double to ‘$205.5 billion by 2030’

The global robotics industry is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15 percent from $90.2 billion in 2024 to $205.5 billion in 2030, according to GlobalData, a data and analytics company.

One of the key reasons for this growth is that the robotics industry offers a “variety of applications” for a wide range of industries.

Mitsubishi testing vehicle transport robots at Nakagusuku Port in Okinawa

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machinery Systems (MHI-MS), a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, will conduct demonstration testing of finished vehicle logistics (FVL) using vehicle transport robots to autonomously move automobiles.

Following a proposal adopted for “Testbed Support Subsidy Program” conducted by Okinawa Prefecture, demonstration testing is scheduled to begin on December 1 this year at the prefecture’s temporary vehicle storage yard (motor pool) at Nakagusuku Port (Uruma, Okinawa Prefecture).

Tethys Robotics secures €3.5 million in pre-seed funding to automate hazardous underwater operations

Swiss startup Tethys Robotics, a spin-out from ETH Zurich and now a leader in underwater robotics, has announced the successful closing of a €3.5 million pre-seed financing round.

The round was led by Redstone with Euregio+ & Alpine VC, and backed by Zürcher Kantonalbank, ETH Foundation, Kickfund, and Venture Kick.

Nvidia partners with Uber to ‘make the world ready for robotaxis’

Nvidia is partnering with Uber to “scale the world’s largest level 4-ready mobility network”, using the company’s next-generation robotaxi and autonomous delivery fleets, the new Nvidia DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10 autonomous vehicle (AV) development platform and Nvidia DRIVE AV software purpose-built for L4 autonomy.

By enabling faster growth across the level 4 ecosystem, Nvidia can support Uber in scaling its global autonomous fleet to 100,000 vehicles over time, starting in 2027. Diligent Robotics, the company behind Moxi, the world’s largest deployed fleet of mobile manipulation robots working side by side with people, today unveiled plans for Moxi 2.0, its next-generation platform built with AI from the ground up.

The launch builds on three years of proprietary real-world data, collected from over 1.25 million deliveries in busy hospital environments and representing one of the largest datasets of real-world human-robot interaction.
