Zoox launches public robotaxi service in Las Vegas

Zoox has officially launched its autonomous ride-hailing service to the public in Las Vegas, making it the first company to provide rides in a purpose-built, fully autonomous robotaxi.

The service began on September 10 and is initially available on and around the Las Vegas Strip. Rides are free during the launch phase and can be booked through the Zoox app on iOS and Android devices.

Roush delivers first Kodiak Driver-equipped autonomous truck

Kodiak Robotics, a provider of AI-powered autonomous vehicle technology, and Roush Industries, a product development supplier serving the mobility, aerospace, defense, and theme park industries, say that Roush has delivered the first Kodiak Driver-equipped autonomous truck off of its production line.

The truck, which Roush upfit at its Livonia, Michigan facility with the Kodiak Driver, Kodiak’s advanced AI-powered autonomous driving system, was delivered to Atlas Energy Solutions in August 2025.

Exotec and E80 Group agree strategic partnership

Exotec, a warehouse robotics provider, and E80 Group, a supplier of automated and integrated end-to-end intralogistics solutions, have announced a strategic partnership.

The collaboration focuses on a joint offering that integrates Exotec’s signature Skypod AS/RS with E80 Group’s suite of pallet-handling systems.

Toray and T2 launch autonomous truck trial for petrochemical transport

Toray Industries and Tokyo-based T2 are set to begin a long-haul autonomous truck trial on part of an expressway connecting eastern and western Japan.

This effort will test whether deploying T2’s autonomous trucks to ship Toray products can provide a sustainable solution to Japan’s driver shortage.

The roughly 440-kilometer route runs from the Tomei Expressway’s Ayase Smart Interchange in Kanagawa Prefecture to the Shin-Meishin Expressway’s Ibaraki-Sendaiji Interchange in Osaka. Serve Robotics adds Voysys teleoperation technology to its delivery robots

Serve Robotics, an autonomous sidewalk robotic delivery company, has announced its acquisition of the assets of Phantom Auto and its subsidiary, Voysys, a Swedish pioneer in ultra-low latency video streaming, connectivity, and teleoperation technology.

The acquisition enhances Serve’s technology stack to support its rapidly growing fleet of autonomous delivery robots. The assets were acquired for cash consideration of approximately $5.75 million.

Nexcom to launch ‘safety-centric humanoid robot controller’

Nexcom has unveiled the MARS400 T10, a humanoid robot controller designed with Nvidia Jetson Thor, at the recent Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot Show.

The controller integrates AI computing, motion control, and Nexcom’s in-house functional safety system into a single modular platform.

Trio launches Motion-PLC controllers to ‘simplify stand-alone machine design’

Trio Motion Technology has launched the first controllers from its new Motion-PLC range, designed to provide advanced motion control performance with the functionality and simplicity of a programmable logic controller (PLC).

The new class of controller combines high-performance motion control over EtherCAT plus logic and I/O expansion, enabling faster, simpler machine development.

The first models in the range, which are now available to order, comprise the MCS 30, the MCS 40, and the MCS 50 Flexible Machine Controllers. The three controllers scale machine and motion requirements up to eight axes over high-speed EtherCAT. Matthews Automation expands investment in Freespace Robotics with warehouse solution purchase

Freespace Robotics, a provider of autonomous storage and order fulfillment systems, says Matthews Automation Solutions, a division of Matthews International, has expanded its strategic investment in the company and purchased a flagship Freespace ASRS (automated storage and retrieval system) for deployment and system integration in its newly launched Atlanta center.

The announcement follows a successful joint showing at ProMat 2025, where Freespace was spotlighted in Matthews Automation Solution’s exhibit.
