‘A Robot’s Dream’ analyzed at the Venice Biennale Architecture

May 17, 2025 by Mai Tao

This year’s Venice Biennale Architecture seems somewhat captivated by robots, with several installations featuring humanoids and robotic arms at the centre of both the creation process and the final work itself, as shown at the exhibition.

The theme of the 2025 Venice Biennale’s 19th International Architecture Exhibition – running from 10 May to 23 November 2025 – is “Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.” [Read more…] about ‘A Robot’s Dream’ analyzed at the Venice Biennale Architecture

Construction robotics: Building the future

May 16, 2025 by Mai Tao

The construction industry, a cornerstone of economic development, stands on the cusp of a technological revolution. While sectors like manufacturing and logistics have long embraced automation, construction has traditionally been more reliant on manual labor.

However, the tide is turning. A new wave of innovation is bringing robotics to the forefront, promising to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity on building sites.

While artistic interpretations of robots in architecture, like those seen at the Venice Architecture Biennale, spark the imagination, there is a sense of anticipation that the practical, real-world robotic systems now emerging could completely transform the construction sector. Opinion: Are humanoid robots coming soon to the construction industry?

May 16, 2025 by Mai Tao

By Mateo Zimmerman, investment manager at Cemex Ventures

The construction industry is no stranger to automation. Task-specific robots – like bricklaying machines, autonomous vehicles, and plastering systems – have long improved safety and efficiency by handling repetitive tasks in structured environments.

Humanoid robots, by contrast, are designed to replicate human motion and behavior, making them better suited for general-purpose roles. With major tech players like Google and Meta investing in this next frontier, the question is how soon humanlike robots will join crews on job sites.

The potential is real, but so are the challenges. Construction sites are unpredictable, and humanoid robots must prove they can adapt to dynamic conditions at a viable cost. These machines will also need to integrate with existing workflows, justify their expense, and gain buy-in from workers, unions, and insurers. Realtime Robotics releases cloud-based software to accelerate design of robot cells

May 16, 2025 by Mai Tao

Realtime Robotics, a specialist in automated collision-free motion planning, control, and optimization, has launched Resolver, a new cloud-based solution that dramatically accelerates the design and deployment of robotic workcells.

Robot path planning is traditionally a complex, time-consuming, and brittle process. In most workcells there are multiple robots in use, requiring tedious manual labor to create interference zones and interlock signals that ensure there are no collisions during the manufacturing process.

Manually validating the mechanical design, planning robot paths, determining sequencing to hit optimal cycle time targets, and defining those interlocks can take a team well over 100,000 hours for a single project. AutoStore technology powers next-generation robotic vertical farm

May 16, 2025 by Mai Tao

Warehouse automation specialist AutoStore and vertical farming company OnePointOne have launched an innovative vertical farming system – supplying Whole Foods with fresh greens grown faster, smarter, and closer to customers.

In a warehouse outside Phoenix, thousands of herbs and vegetables are growing in robot-powered bins, moving smoothly through a towering, Rubik’s cube-like grid. This is Opollo Farm: a fully automated vertical farming system built by AutoStore and OnePointOne.

Robots move crops through a precision-controlled environment, adjusting their position to deliver the perfect balance of water and nutrients. The result? Harvest-ready greens in just 15 days – about half the time of traditional farming – and grown just miles from where they’re consumed. Scraping Across Borders: How to Build a Geo-Targeted Proxy Stack

May 16, 2025 by Mai Tao

Modern web scraping isn’t just about collecting data – it’s about collecting the right data from the right place. Whether you’re tracking eCommerce trends, verifying localized ads, or monitoring competitor pricing, location-specific accuracy can make or break your results.

And when websites personalize content based on IP geography, your scraping stack needs more than just speed and rotation. It needs precision.

In this guide, we’ll walk through how to build a geo-targeted proxy stack capable of accessing region-specific data at scale. We’ll explain why localization matters, how to identify the best tools (including the best Russian proxy options), and what to look for in credible proxy reviews before choosing a provider.
