Swisslog wins multimillion-dollar order from Spritzer in Malaysia
Swisslog, a warehouse automation provider and part of the Kuka Group, has won “a major order” from Spritzer, known as the manufacturer of Malaysia’s best-selling natural mineral water.
The company says the order value is in the “double-digit million euro range” and was booked in the second quarter of 2018.
The bottled water products maker Spritzer has allocated €13.8 million to expand its warehousing facilities and production capacity.
This includes a plan to build an automated warehouse in Taiping, Perak, and new production lines at its Shah Alam plant.
Both expansion projects are scheduled for completion in 2019.
When completed, the project will increase their warehouse capacity by up to 30 percent and increase the number of their production lines from 15 to 17.
By streamlining the processes Spritzer will benefit from higher throughput rate due to improved operational efficiency.
Dr Christian Baur, COO Swisslog Group and CEO Swisslog Logistics Automation, says: “The automated warehouse will be seamlessly connected to the production line, allowing Spritzer to grow their business in the era of Industrie 4.0.”
Dr Till Reuter, CEO Kuka, says: “We are proud that our customer in intralogistics relies on Kuka’s leading automation solutions.
“With our high-tech solutions, we enable our customers worldwide to design their intralogistics efficiently and future-proof”.
