Fetch Robotics partners with Ricoh to offer ‘round-the-clock’ global support

Fetch Robotics, a provider of collaborative robotic solutions for warehouses and other logistics operations, has launched a new support program called FetchCare.

The company says FetchCare provides “round-the-clock support” to Fetch Robotics’ worldwide customers in the logistics and warehouse industries.

Logic Supply launches new ‘ultra small’ IoT edge device

Industrial computer hardware manufacturer Logic Supply has unveiled its CL200 “ultra small form factor” edge device for networking.

The company says the device is “built to power innovation at the network’s edge”.

Roam Robotics launches ‘lightweight’, AI-powered exoskeleton for skiers

Startup company Roam Robotics is launching its first product – a mobile exoskeleton that it says will help to improve endurance, safety, and experience for skiers and snowboarders. (See video below.)

The device will target the 16 million US adults currently engaged in snow sports, inclusive of the millions of adults age 45 and older that will benefit the most from the support provided by this product, especially those with knee or muscle fatigue issues.

Circular Wave Drive raises $2 million in funding

Circular Wave Drive, a technology company that manufactures compact speed-reducing gears for robotics and applications, closed $900,000 in seed funding, capping off the company’s $2 million total seed investment.

Columbus-based Ikove Venture Partners led and organized the round for the startup.

How cities innovate through robotics

How can robots provide services for cities and their inhabitants? What are the benefits of using robots for the inspection and maintenance of urban infrastructures?

A new video created by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya shows how ECHORD++ is encouraging cities to innovate through robotics, especially in the field of sewer inspection.

The video shows the concept of the ECHORD++ Public end-user Driven Technological Innovation (PDTI) scheme, which we offers R&D consortia the possibility to develop robotic technology according to the needs of public bodies.

Two application areas have been identified: Healthcare and Urban Robotics.

AMS extends digital multispectral sensor offer

AMS, a leading worldwide supplier of high performance sensor solutions, has launched the AS7265X, an 18-channel multispectral sensor solution, opening the door to a wide range of new spectral sensing applications.

The 18-channel 3-chip calibrated visible through near-infrared chipset is ideal for emerging spectral sensing applications such as horticulture, fluid quality/spectral component analysis and complex spectral identification, including anti-counterfeiting and authentication.

“This cost effective product family will have a tremendous impact on the industry, creating broad opportunities for sub-$100 spectral sensing instruments,” said Tom Griffiths, Senior Marketing Manager at ams.

Cyberdyne and Brooks set up Medical HAL joint venture

Cyberdyne, Inc. and Brooks Rehabilitation, one of the busiest rehabilitation hospital groups in the U.S., have established a joint venture company, Cyberdyne & Brooks, Inc. (C&B), to promote Medical HAL in the US.

Cyberdyne has invested two-thirds and Brooks a third in the new firm. C&B has opened a Brooks Cybernic Treatment Center (BCTC) in Florida and begun its sales operation to spread Medical HAL – HAL for medical use lower limb type – to all parts of the U.S.

The innovative treatment with Medical HAL was developed as the result of utilizing Cybernic technology. It improves the quality of lives of patients through improvement of body function, reduces the burden of care through promotion of patients’ independence and diminishes the social cost as a whole. Fanuc launches new robot simulation software RoboGuide

Industrial robot gigantico Fanuc has launched an offline robot simulation program called RoboGuide. 

The company says RoboGuide is a robot simulator that simulates both the robot’s motion and application commands, significantly reducing the time it takes to create new motion setups.
