EPHJ: The essential event for the high precision sector

The EPHJ-EPMT-SMT Trade Show is the international showcase for high precision technologies in the fields of watch-making and jewellery, medical technology and microtechnology.

It is the must-attend event for the presentation of products from these segments, and the 2018 show sounds promising.

For 16 years, the EPHJ-EPMT-SMT Trade Show has welcomed a global flagship of expertise in the high precision sector, including the machine segment, represented by a wealth of companies from the sector.

A highpoint of the 2018 show: a gathering of leading watch-jewellery designers.

They will meet to discuss current and future trends and the pivotal role that designers play between the brands and subcontractors active in these segments.

Among the names put forward to attend are Richard Orlinski, Eric Giroud, Jean-Marc Wiederrecht and Pierre-Laurent Favre.

2017 saw the launch of a start-up “village”. Building on the success of that initiative, in 2018 the “village” will be expanded to become a veritable hub for European start-ups.

“We hope to contribute to the emergence and development of young companies that are keenly focused on innovation and the value added they can bring to the different sectors present at the Trade Show,” says Alexandre Catton, director of the Trade Show.

A pitching space will be made available to these start-ups, which will be given a few minutes to present their innovation to a small and select audience.

The 2018 show will also have a more overtly female presence, with a “Women’s Day” to be organised on 13 June, to showcase the role of women in the industry and give the floor to female company heads, industrial experts, managers or creative personnel who make an active contribution to the tech industry.

All too often marginalised in a somewhat masculine universe, it is important to hear feedback from women who are actively involved in the industry’s development, promotion and organisation.

Another topic for discussion at the Trade Show’s famous round table events: Industry 4.0.

A much-talked about topic, Industry 4.0 requires objective clarification so that we may fully grasp the significance of this development which is set to progressively change our industrial reality.

This issue will be addressed as clearly as possible with the assistance of prominent personalities and industrialists who are specialists in the field.

The Exhibitors’ Grand Prix, which has become the traditional opening event of the EPHJ-EPMT-SMT Trade Show, will once again be awarded to the most innovative company.

Each year, this renowned prize puts its winner firmly in the spotlight, assisted by media promotions around the event.

It is interesting to note that former winners of the Exhibitors’ Grand Prix have seen their sales boosted considerably as a result of the prize.

In 2017, half of the finalists were start-ups. This demonstrates the exceptional array of innovations presented at the EPHJ-EPMT-SMT Trade Show.

The EPHJ-EPMT-SMT Trade Show has also just launched its new website in four languages.

This site will serve as a year-round window on the activity of its exhibitors and their technological ecosystem, and the homepage will feature news on current developments in the sector.

The website also offers exhibitors a simplified registration method and regularly updates the list of exhibitors registered to attend the 2018 show.
