Formula 1 racing organizer selects Siemens as official digital twin sponsor

Siemens Digital Industries Software has been selected by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) as “Official Digital Twin Sponsor”, as the global governing body for motor sport and federation for mobility organizations worldwide expands its use of Siemens software.

The FIA, which has welcomed Siemens into its new Global Partnership Programme, will extend its use of software from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to create and refine the aerodynamic concepts that shape the regulations for single-seater race cars, from Formula 1 through to Formula 4.

Using Siemens’ Designcenter NX software, the FIA can design complex vehicle models, visualise them in lifelike detail, and iterate digitally before running computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations on the model. Bombardier expands use of Siemens Xcelerator to digitally transform aircraft engineering

Bombardier is deepening its investment in digital transformation by expanding its adoption of Siemens Xcelerator software, aiming to streamline aircraft engineering processes from initial design through to production.

The Canadian aerospace manufacturer has selected Siemens’ NX software for 3D modeling, simulation, and manufacturing, as well as Capital software for electrical systems design.

Electric Future: Siemens providing software platform to support nascent electric airplane market

Swedish electric airplane maker Heart Aerospace has selected the Capital product lifecycle management suite from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of software and services to support its design, development, and certification of zero emission electric aircraft.

Siemens’ Capital will provide electrical and electronic (E/E) system design and support as Heart Aerospace addresses the market and regulatory demands of escalating performance and commercial certification requirements.

As part of the extensive electrification in these aircraft, Heart Aerospace must address the complexity of the Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) while also addressing electrical system compliance risk. Saildrone develops ‘next generation ocean data products’ with Siemens Xcelerator as a Service

Siemens Digital Industries Software says that Saildrone, a California-based company that designs, manufactures, and operates a fleet of uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs), has adopted Siemens’ Xcelerator portfolio, including cloud-enabled Xcelerator as a Service solution, enabling it to innovate faster and more collaboratively across the entire organization without the burden of a traditional IT infrastructure. Saildrone has adopted the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio for product design, engineering and manufacturing, including NX software for 3D product engineering and Teamcenter® X for product lifecycle management (PLM).
