C-Hawk Technology launches robotic plastic welding platform for semiconductor equipment manufacturing

C-Hawk Technology, a maker of manufacturing of components, assemblies and processes for the semiconductor and healthcare industries, has unveiled its new patent-pending “Roberto” platform.

The company describes the platform as “an integrated robotics system that automates plastic welding and sets new benchmarks for quality, precision, scalability and safety in manufacturing for plastic welded assemblies and subassemblies”.

Early performance data shows that Roberto outperforms manual welding with a 25 percent increase in production speed and product consistency, a 30 percent improvement in output efficiency and a 50 percent decrease in error rates. EndoQuest Robotics applies for FDA approval for its new robotic surgery device

EndoQuest Robotics, a privately held medical device company and pioneer in the development of flexible endoluminal robotic technologies, has submitted an Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) application for its pivotal colorectal clinical study.

EndoQuest says its mission is to “transform surgical outcomes for minimally invasive surgery” (MIS) with its groundbreaking flexible robotic system.

Caracol unveils large-format robotic 3D printer

Caracol, a developer of large-format metal additive manufacturing systems, is introducing Vipra AM, which it describes as “a revolutionary technology that transforms how large-scale metal parts are produced”.

The company says its new robotic platform will be unveiled at Formnext (booth C101, Hall 12.1), and “stands out as a powerful tool designed to meet these and more of their evolving needs”.

GreyOrange’s robotic retail software solution now available on Google Cloud Marketplace

Comau builds robotic work cell that can machine large parts using about half the energy

Comau has been showcased a new robotic work cell that it says can manoeuvre and machine large parts. The solution is called SmartReach and it was debuted at a recent BI-MU trade show in Italy.

As automotive manufacturers look to increase sustainability and cost effectiveness, there is a growing demand for large structural components made of lightweight metals that can deliver better fuel efficiency, battery power range and higher cost-effectiveness.

Finnish automation company integrates tiny Mecademic SCARA robot in desktop work cell

International Innovation Network (IIN), a Finland-based automation solutions company, has designed a desktop robot cell which features Mecademic’s MCS500 SCARA robot as a central component.

IIN has released the new design as a white-label desktop robot cell. Mecademic specializes in making small industrial robots that can fit easily on a small desk. 

According to IIN’s CEO Teijo Fabritius, this new robot cell will be a cost-efficient standard automation solution ideal for operations requiring little or no customization.

ABB Robotics and US start-up Molg tackle data center e-waste with robotic micro-factories

ABB Robotics is collaborating with US start-up Molg to create robotic micro-factories to recover and recycle data center operators’ disused electronic equipment, commonly known as e-waste.

With global e-waste projected to rise to 75 million tons by 2030, the micro-factories will play a vital role in reducing the electronic waste, helping the data center sector operate more efficiently and sustainably.
