UBTECH launches portable social robot with ‘loving AI’

UBTECH has launched a portable social robot with what the company describes as “loving” artificial intelligence.

AlphaMini, a portable humanoid robot, which is is said to be able to chat, read, sing and dance, made its debut today in South Korea.

Built by UBTECH robotics, a manufacturer of intelligent humanoid robotics and AI technologies, the cute-looking creature combines advanced robotics and highly extensible AI platform to give you the most intimate human-robot interactive experiences. Naver Labs to showcase robotics and artificial intelligence technologies at CES

Naver Labs is planning the global debut and demonstrations of the artificial intelligence, robotics, computer-aided vision, mapping and other core technologies of its “breakthrough xDM platform” at CES and the Pepcom Digital Experience.

Naver Labs and Here team up on autonomous indoor mapping technology

Naver Labs, the ambient intelligence arm of Korea’s leading internet company Naver Corporation, and Here Technologies, a global leader in mapping and location services, have signed a preliminary agreement to collaborate on autonomous indoor mapping technology.

The collaboration aims to combine Naver Labs’ Scalable & Semantic Indoor Mapping (SSIM) technology, autonomous robots, and AI-based image recognition capabilities with the Here Open Location Platform to create, maintain and publish 3D maps of indoor environments such as airports and train stations.
