Trilogy NextGen to provide robotic supply chain solution to Bioworld Merchandising

September 12, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Trilogy NextGen, a provider of digital transformation solutions, says it is supplying customized logistics systems powered by autonomous robotics for Bioworld Merchandising, a global brand manufacturer of licensed apparel, accessories and home goods.

With a sales and distribution network that supports the world’s largest retailers, Bioworld employs state-of-the-art technology in its product fulfillment and logistics operations.

In order to enhance efficiency of its on-demand print and ship services, Bioworld tapped Trilogy NextGen to design an automated material handling system using autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), transporting products from the warehouse to the shipping environment with speed and accuracy. Renault brings in 191 Exotec robots to fully automate vehicle parts facility

June 19, 2024 by David Edwards

Renault Group has unveiled its “new-generation” logistics facility in Villeroy, which is “100 percent automated” and equipped with the system from Exotec, a French industrial robotics company.

Renault says the all-French collaboration is a world first for a car manufacturer.

Skypod robots facilitate the work of operators by picking items at height, thereby eliminating the risk of falling. The time it takes to prepare parts orders is thus divided by 6 and the surface of the storage area on the site is reduced. Robot cell guarding: When adaptability trumps strength

November 2, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Luke Wilkinson, design and product development manager at Matara, looks at the growing use of aluminium over steel in robot guard frames and the reasons behind its rising popularity

It is estimated that there are around 23,000 robots operating in industrial settings in the UK. The automotive sector is the largest user employing over 9,000, with the food and drink sector recently rising to second place.

With their ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately, swiftly and consistently, it’s not hard to understand why the use of robots across industry is growing. A survey conducted by the British Automation & Robot Association showed sales of robots in the UK to be 7.5% higher in 2020 from the previous year.

Whilst the benefits of using robots in industrial settings are clear, it’s important to take into account the potential safety risk they pose; not of a science fiction nature, but a very real, present in the here and now type risk that primarily stems from people accidentally getting in their way which can have serious consequences if the machine is fast moving, carrying a heavy payload and so on.
