UVeye secures $191 million extra funding from investors including Toyota

UVeye, a developer of AI-driven vehicle inspection technology, has raised $191 million in additional funding, bringing total capital raised to date to $380.5 million.

This latest infusion, combining equity and debt, will fuel UVeye’s efforts to meet surging global demand for its innovative systems and solidify its position as the market leader in the industry as the company nears a million vehicles scanned every month.

The round was led by Woven Capital with participation from UMC Capital and MyBerg along with existing investors W.R. Berkley, Menora Mivtachim, and More Investment House for $41 million in equity financing; Trinity Capital structured the $150 million debt facility. Bonsai Robotics secures $15 million in Series A funding for its agriculture applications

Bonsai Robotics, a developer of physical AI solutions for agriculture applications, has raised $15 million in Series A funding.

Bison Ventures led the oversubscribed round with participation from new investor, Cibus Capital, and existing investors Acre Venture Partners, Congruent Ventures, Fall Line Capital, E14 Fund, SNR and Serra Ventures.

The new funding will enable Bonsai to continue enhancing its software capabilities, expanding its physical AI platform and data set, driving additional OEM partnerships, and accelerating commercialization efforts. Outrider implements reinforcement learning AI to enhance distribution yard throughput

Outrider, a startup developing autonomous yard operations for logistics hubs, has unveiled its “industry-first” implementation of advanced reinforcement learning (RL) techniques to maximize freight throughput at customer sites.

MilliporeSigma partners with Opentrons Labworks to create ‘Lab of the Future’

MilliporeSigma, the US and Canada Life Science business of Merck, of Germany, and Opentrons Labworks, a leader in lab automation and accessible robotics, announced a multi-year agreement to automate assay kits on a custom Opentrons Flex workstation.

Scientists and engineers will collaborate to develop and verify platform workflows utilizing the broad offering of automation-enabled assays from the Life Science business of Merck, Darmstadt, Germany.

Matternet receives approval to operate its drone in Saudi Arabia

Matternet, the developer of an urban drone delivery system, has been approved by Saudi Arabia to operate its M2 drone within the region – it is the first drone operator to receive such approval.

The approval was granted by Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) after the agency determined that the M2’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Type Certification issued by the US met GACA airworthiness standards.

ABB and Agilent Technologies enter collaboration to advance laboratory automation

Industrial automation giant ABB Robotics has signed a collaboration agreement with Agilent Technologies, a provider of analytical and laboratory technology and software, to deliver automated laboratory solutions.

Working together, ABB and Agilent will combine the benefits of their technologies to enable companies across multiple sectors including pharma, biotechnology, energy and food and beverage to transform their laboratory operations by making processes such as research and quality control faster and more efficient.
