Orlando and Beep launch autonomous shuttle pilot
The City of Orlando has started a six-month autonomous shuttle pilot program in partnership with Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) and Beep, an Orlando-based provider of autonomous shared mobility solutions.
The autonomous pilot, called SWAN Shuttle (Shuttling With Autonomous Navigation), will provide the city and LYNX data and learnings to guide the city’s transportation strategy on how shared, electric and autonomous vehicles can enhance accessibility, improve the quality of life for residents and ensure the city remains future-ready and sustainable.

Badger Technologies, a product division of Jabil and provider of robots for retail automation, has teamed up with Stop & Shop, an Ahold Delhaize USA company, to expand its use of Marty the Robot at more than 300 Stop & Shop stores throughout the Northeast.
The robot now conducts product checks to help ensure greater on-shelf availability for customers by alerting store associates when items need re-stocking.

ABB plans stunning new robotics hub in Sweden as part of $280 million investment in Europe
Industrial power and automation giant ABB is planning to invest $280 million to expand its manufacturing footprint in Europe and build a stunning new state-of-the-art facility in Västerås, Sweden – the ABB Robotics European Campus.
The Campus will serve as the hub for ABB Robotics’ offering in Europe, providing customers with AI-enabled collaborative and industrial robots, as well as digital solutions to support flexible automation as part of the company’s “local for local” production strategy.

The global market for autonomous yard trucks market is forecast to grow at more than 50 percent a year. This is according to a report by technology intelligence firm ABI Research.
The installed base of artificial intelligence-enabled cameras in the yard will reach 11.2 million globally by 2030, and the uptake of autonomous yard trucks will rise significantly at a global compound annual growth rate of 52.7 percent from 2022 to 2030.
