AI² Robotics CEO talks up ‘better spatial intelligence’ of company’s robots on CNBC

June 5, 2025 by Mai Tao

Shenzhen-based AI² Robotics – which has raised “hundreds of millions of yuan” in funding investment – is emerging as a notable player in the advanced automation space, focusing on what they term “embodied AI”.

This approach seeks to empower physical entities, like their innovative robots, to intelligently learn from and interact with their surroundings.

A compelling example of their work is the Alpha Bot, a sophisticated machine that integrates an autonomous mobile robot base with a dual-armed collaborative system, and a humanoid torso and head, designed for versatility in complex environments. Is Joe Biden a robotic clone? What happened to the real Joe Biden?

June 4, 2025 by Mai Tao

The current US President Donald Trump is known to say some outlandish things sometimes, but this one probably beats them all.

While we do have the technology to make it possible to replace former US President Joe Biden with a robotic clone, there is no evidence to prove that this has indeed happened.

President Trump shared a post on his Truth Social platform that makes the unsubstantiated claim that President Biden was “executed in 2022” and has been replaced by a “robotic clone”. [Read more…] about Is Joe Biden a robotic clone? What happened to the real Joe Biden?

Underwater drones reveal coral loss at one of the world’s southernmost reefs

June 4, 2025 by Mai Tao

Advanced Navigation, a specialist in navigation and autonomous systems, in collaboration with marine consultancy O2 Marine, has revealed an explicit visual depiction of Hall Bank – a small, nearshore reef off Fremantle in south-west Australia (32°S), located well beyond the typical latitudinal range for coral reefs.

Using Hydrus, a micro hovering autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), the teams conducted a detailed survey of the reef, capturing geo-referenced high-resolution imagery and 4K video in parallel.

The data showed severe coral bleaching and fragmentation, laying bare a hidden yet escalating crisis at one of the world’s southernmost reefs. [Read more…] about Underwater drones reveal coral loss at one of the world’s southernmost reefs
