Swisslog secures ‘major orders’ worth €17 million for its warehouse management solution

Swisslog has secured what it describes as “major orders” for its warehouse management solution from three customers.

The projects involve AutoStore and SAP EWM applications, and are in China, Austria, and Switzerland.

A specialist provider of intralogistics automation solutions, Swisslog says it is “making great strides” with the SAP EWM warehouse management system alongside its own SynQ software platform.

The company recently secured three projects with a combined value of over €17 million, and a significant element of these involves SAP EWM integration.

These orders were placed by:

  1. Festo, an automation technology specialist from Germany;
  2. Aquipa, a consumer electronics distributor from Austria; and
  3. Bühler, a Swiss technology company.

All three cases call for a combination of the AutoStore compact storage system and SAP EWM. This will allow Swisslog to further cement its position as the world’s number-one AutoStore provider.

Dr Christian Baur, CEO of Swisslog, says: “We are delighted that our development of the standard AutoStore concept with SAP EWM offers real added value for our customers. The orders we have secured will allow us to demonstrate our SAP expertise in the market even further.”

Daniel Hauser, head of region Central Europe and Middle East for Swisslog, says: “This also means we are listening to what our customers want within the software sector and offering greater diversity from the Swisslog range.”

Global support with a long-term vision

Festo is commissioning the Swiss intralogistics company to build a new, state-of-the-art logistics hub in Shanghai.

The cornerstone of this project is an AutoStore solution integrated by Swisslog for storing and picking Festo products.

For Festo, a particularly decisive factor in choosing to collaborate with Swisslog was its reputation as a global partner with strong consultation, implementation and service teams in Europe and China.

Furthermore, Festo was also convinced to award the contract to Swisslog because of its AutoStore and SAP EWM expertise.

Comprehensive software expertise and long-standing partnership

After considering a variety of software options, the Austrian consumer electronics and accessories provider Aqipa decided to use SAP EWM to control its AutoStore facility in Kundl near Innsbruck.

Technology company Bühler also relies on this combination for its new Customer Service Hub in the Swiss municipality of Uzwil.

Urs Bührer, head of logistics customer service at Bühler, says: “Swisslog and Bühler have enjoyed a long-standing partnership spanning many years, so it was an obvious decision to turn to the company for its comprehensive software expertise.”
