President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will “substantially” reduce tariffs on Chinese imports, in a move that could mark a shift in the long-running trade conflict between the world’s two largest economies. 

Speaking on April 22, Trump said that although the tariffs would be lowered significantly, they “won’t be zero”, indicating a continued effort to protect certain domestic industries.

Boeing faces turbulence as China halts deliveries in retaliation for US tariffs

Boeing, the United States’ largest exporter, is once again at the center of a geopolitical storm – this time as a casualty of the latest salvo in the US-China trade war.

Following new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on a wide range of Chinese imports, Beijing has reportedly ordered Chinese airlines to suspend all future deliveries of Boeing aircraft.

The directive, confirmed by Bloomberg and other sources, could affect approximately 200 planes currently on order by carriers such as China Eastern and China Southern, and represents one of the most severe retaliatory measures China has taken against a major US manufacturer in recent years. Trump grants tariff exemptions for Apple and other tech firms

President Donald Trump has rolled back some of his most aggressive trade measures by granting tariff exemptions for a range of consumer electronics, offering critical relief to companies such as Apple, Dell, and Nvidia.

In guidance issued late Friday, the US Customs and Border Protection agency confirmed that smartphones, laptops, computer chips, and other electronics would be excluded from the administration’s latest round of reciprocal tariffs targeting China.
