SoftBank develops ‘robot-friendly’ server rack to enable automation at data centers

SoftBank, a Japanese telecommunications giant which is a significant player in the robotics sector, has developed a new server rack intended to make data center hardware easier for robots to install, maintain, and replace. 

The company says the initiative will help position its infrastructure as being tailored to the demands of AI and autonomous systems.

Announced in September 2025, the rack introduces a cableless structure that allows robots to carry out tasks such as installing and removing servers, swapping faulty units, and conducting inspections. ABB and Applied Digital accelerate construction of AI data centers

Applied Digital, a builder and operator of next-generation data centers, has launched an infrastructure partnership with ABB at the company’s greenfield 400 MW campus in North Dakota, United States.

The collaboration will innovate fast, reliable, energy-efficient solutions to meet the needs of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

Nvidia to manufacture its AI supercomputers in the US for the first time

Nvidia says it will manufacture its AI supercomputers in the United States for the first time, working with a network of partners to expand domestic production and strengthen its supply chain.

The company has commissioned more than a million square feet of manufacturing space in Arizona and Texas to support the initiative.

Production of Nvidia’s latest Blackwell chips is already under way at TSMC’s facilities in Phoenix, while supercomputers based on the new chips will be assembled and tested at new facilities being developed in Texas.
