Smart 5G patrol robots equipped with Advantech’s edge computer employed to fight coronavirus

As part of its effort to contain the spread of coronavirus, or COVID-19, China is using 5G patrol robots developed by Guangzhou Gosuncn Robot, using Advantech technology to monitor mask wearing and body temperatures in public places.

Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the Guangzhou Gosuncn Robot, a leading provider of smart city internet of things products and services, upgraded its 5G-powered police patrol robot with new capabilities to assist first-line police officers in conducting disease prevention inspections.

Because the manual measurement of body temperature exposes public safety personnel to potential health risks, these robots are equipped with 5 high-resolution cameras and infrared thermometers capable of scanning the temperature of 10 people simultaneously within a radius of 5 meters. Advantech aims for revenues of €350 million in Europe by 2025

Industrial computer maker Advantech has outlined its European growth strategy as it enters its next phase of IoT development.

One of the company’s main targets is the generation of revenues of €350 million across Europe by 2025.

Advantech expands European service center

Advantech, a provider of industrial and embedded computing solutions, has expanded its European Service Center in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

The compnay says that “continuous growth in the European market” has led Advantech to enlarge both the production, logistic and office facilities, which are set to open in January 2018.

Next to housing nearly 150 employees, the high-tech building will also serve as a demonstration site, displaying the latest of Advantech’s service IoT and Industry 4.0 applications.  [Read more…] about Advantech expands European service center

Advantech wins award from Chinese consulting company for its digital factory technologies

Advantech, a provider of industrial computers and related technologies, has received an award from from ROI Management Consulting, in China.

The award is for its Industry 4.0-compliant digital factory.

Advantech releases two new internet gateways for factories

Advantech has released two new gateways which it says enable “seamless protocol conversion” for internet of things data.

The new gateways extend the company’s Protocol Gateway Series for protocol conversion.

Advantech launches WebAccess 8.2 to round out the end-to-cloud IoT applications

Advantech has launched WebAccess 8.2 to round out the IoT applications from the end to the cloud.

Based on the previous powerful features, the latest version supports MQTT protocol and adds two new drivers (Ethernet/IP for Allen-Bradley PLC and B+B Wzzard MQTT) enabling manager/administrator/System Integrator to effortlessly integrate more on-site devices and upload the front-end data to the cloud.

Industrial internet: Advantech joins LoRa Alliance

Advantech, which claims to be one of the world’s leading suppliers of industrial computers and “intelligent systems”, has joined the LoRa Alliance. 

The LoRa Alliance is open, non-profit association which provides a forum for its 400 members to develop standards for internet of things technologies.
