Deep Robotics launches new quadruped robot

Deep Robotics, a developer of quadrupedal robots, has launched its X30 quadruped robot, a “flagship product” designed to meet core industry needs in multiple fields, including inspection of power stations, factories, pipeline corridors, emergency rescue, fire detection, scientific research and more.

X30 incorporates Deep Robotics’ “unique fusion perception technology that enables it to rapidly traverse obstacles, navigate open riser industrial stairs in challenging, changing environments, conduct autonomous inspection day and night in any weather, and overcome other difficulties in an ever-growing number of scenarios”.

X30 is also able to respond quickly to unexpected situations or handle tasks at a moment’s notice. Compared to earlier editions of the quadruped robot, the operating temperature range of X30 has been extended to between minus 20°C and plus 55°C, greatly broadening the environment and climatic conditions in which it can operate. iFarm launches first vertical farm in the UAE

iFarm, a vertical farming technologies provider, announced the launch of the first vertical farm in the UAE to use iFarm technologies.

Located in Dubai, the farm will produce “ultra-fresh” produce such as leafy greens, microgreens, herbs and edible flowers. Its initial target markets are premium retail and hotel, restaurant, catering sectors.

Located just a 30-minute drive from the heart of Dubai, the vertical farm covers a growing area of 712 sq m and is expected to yield around 3 tonnes of high-quality produce per month. PickNik Robotics raises $2 million in pre-seed investment round

PickNik Robotics, a provider of “unstructured robotics software”, says it has reached a major milestone in its mission to bring robot arms “out of factories and into our everyday lives”.

The company has just raised $2 million in a pre-seed investment round led by Stellar Ventures and Cypress Growth Capital, positioning itself as the dominant force in redefining the robotics industry through its innovative software platforms.

Emerson has closed its acquisition of NI, formerly known as National Instruments, a provider of software-connected automated test and measurement systems, at an equity value of $8.2 billion.

Terrafame hires autonomous airships from Kelluu to help create digital twin of 60 sq km industrial production site

Terrafame, a battery chemicals producer for electric vehicles, has selected Finnish airship development company Kelluu to provide “accurate and geo-referenced terrain data” for the continuous monitoring of its 60 sq km industrial site in Finland.

The aerial monitoring has been done mainly using satellites or helicopters, battery-powered drones, or land-based surveys.

Kelluu develops long-distance, self-flying, and hydrogen-powered airship concepts mounted with several spectral cameras, sensors, and scanners that can gather real-time data on terrain, vegetation, and infrastructure. As the use of mobile robots continues to surge in industrial settings, the Association for Advancing Automation (A3) has unveiled the second installment of its flagship safety standard for industrial mobile robots, providing guidance on safe integration practices for these systems.

R15.08-2, the American National Standard for Industrial Mobile Robots (IMRs) – Safety Requirements – Part 2: Requirements for IMR systems and IMR applications provides safety requirements for deploying IMR systems into an industrial environment.

Premier Design + Build Group has broken ground on a building expansion project for Sumitomo Drive Technologies in Glendale Heights, Illinois.

The work is designed to meet the evolving needs of the client, whose Midwest-manufactured products are in high demand from customers across a range of industries.
