PlusAI says it is on track to launch factory-built commercial autonomous trucks in 2027, as the company reported progress across a set of internal readiness metrics tied to safety validation and operational performance.
In an update issued January 8, PlusAI said its Safety Case Readiness (SCR) reached 90.1 percent through the second half of 2025, while Autonomous Miles Percentage (AMP) rose to 99.2 percent and Remote Assistance Free Trips (RAFT) increased to 79.0 percent. The company said these figures represent steady improvement compared with metrics disclosed in mid-2025.
“This progress comes as PlusAI works towards its targeted commercial launch in 2027,” the company said in a press release, adding that it is also planning to become publicly listed via a business combination with Churchill Capital Corp IX.
David Liu, CEO and co-founder of PlusAI, said: “Our performance on the Safety Case Readiness and Remote Assistance Free Trips metrics demonstrate that SuperDrive is advancing toward commercial readiness.
“Safety and system maturity as well as operational efficiency are foundational requirements for deploying factory-built autonomous trucks at scale. We continue to make consistent, measurable progress on both as we get closer to our planned 2027 commercial launch.”
PlusAI said its proprietary SuperDrive platform is built on what it describes as an “AI-native reasoning-reflex autonomy stack with rule-based guardrails and redundancy”, trained on more than six million real-world miles and augmented by simulation and synthetic data.
The company’s OEM partners include Traton Group brands Scania, MAN, and International, along with IVECO and Hyundai, which plan to integrate SuperDrive at the factory level.
PlusAI said its first factory-built autonomous trucks are planned for deployment in the Texas Triangle, with expansion to additional freight corridors in the United States and Europe. The company added that it is currently running a commercial pilot with a top-ten US carrier in Texas and conducting public road testing in Sweden.
PlusAI’s readiness targets include achieving 100 percent Safety Case Readiness and greater than 90 percent Remote Assistance Free Trips ahead of commercial deployment.
