Beginning December 3, the service will be available from six Walmart stores across Metro Atlanta.

Walmart products eligible for drone delivery include grocery items, last-minute gifts, household goods and over-the-counter medicine. Whether facing a forgotten dinner ingredient or searching for a last-minute holiday toy, Wing can turn a 20-minute drive in notorious Atlanta traffic into a five minute or less average flight time.
Heather Rivera, chief business officer at Wing, says: “Atlanta is a powerhouse in aviation, and we’re bringing the same spirit of speed and efficiency to thousands of Walmart customers across the Metro just in time for the busiest season of the year.
“This launch is a critical next step in our significant expansion, turning drone delivery from novelty to norm as residents make drone delivery part of their everyday shopping.”
Expanding drone delivery access
The Metro Atlanta launch is an important milestone, representing the first new major metro in Wing’s historic drone delivery expansion with Walmart. This expansion will include five new metros and serve 100 additional Walmart stores across the US by 2026.
Given Walmart’s reach, with stores located within 10 miles of 90 percent of the US population, Metro Atlanta’s dense population and the high customer demand for rapid delivery make it an ideal location for scaling Wing and Walmart’s drone service in a new major metro.
Offering drone delivery to Atlanta residents will build upon Wing and Walmart’s success in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex. In DFW today, Wing successfully delivers thousands of orders to Walmart customers’ homes weekly, with plans for continued growth.
From delivering popular items like Great Value Eggs without a crack to fresh dinner essentials such as ground beef and avocados, Wing and Walmart are positioning drone delivery as an essential, convenient, and reliable option for busy families. In fact, over 75 percent of customers have used Wing’s drone delivery service more than once in the past year.
How Metro Atlanta’s drone delivery works
With just a click of a button, eligible customers in Metro Atlanta can now place orders for ultra-fast drone delivery. Customers simply order through the Wing app and, at checkout, confirm the precise delivery location on their property.
Once loaded onto one of Wing’s highly automated drones, the order cruises safely at approximately 60 mph and about 150 feet off the ground, with five minutes or less average flight times. Upon arrival, the drone gently lowers the package to the ground with no assistance needed.
Residents can check their address eligibility and join Wing’s waitlist for future expansion at wing.com/walmart.
