Beijing-based robot-maker Noetix Robotics has announced the upcoming pre-sale of its latest humanoid robot, named “Bumi”, at a breakthrough price of ¥9,998 (approximately $1,400), making it the first high-performance humanoid robot in China to dip below the ¥10,000 mark.
Standing at approximately 94 cm tall and weighing roughly 12 kg, Bumi features a 48 V battery with over 3.5 Ah capacity (yielding 1 to 2 hours of run time) and is capable of walking, running and dancing motions.
The company says the robot supports drag-and-drop graphical programming for children, and voice interaction for companion and educational scenarios.
Noetix describes Bumi as the “industry’s first sub-¥10,000 consumer humanoid robot”, signalling a shift from laboratory derivate to accessible home devices.
The startup itself was founded in September 2023 in Beijing, with its core team drawn from top institutions including Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University.
While coverage in English (via TechNode) highlights the broader significance of Bumi’s launch, these Chinese language reports confirm the key specs, pricing and market positioning.
As the company moves toward this low-price entry point, it may mark a new phase in humanoid robot commercialisation in China – from niche to mass market.
Noetix Robotics first gained attention in 2024 with its N2 humanoid robot, which reportedly achieved more than 2,500 orders and even participated in a humanoid robot half-marathon earlier this year.
The company has since positioned itself as one of China’s fastest-rising robotics startups, aiming to make humanoid robots practical for education, research, and home use.
