Vampire Survivors
If you ask me, Vampire Survivors is the best independent game in recent times, and you will lose track of your time playing it. This game was released on October 20, 2022 by poncle.
It is a 2D, Pixel Graphics game. You have so many characters to choose from; each character starts with a unique spell and stats.
Choose a map and try to survive among all kinds of hordes. Once you complete a few objectives, you will unlock more spells, characters, and map modes.
I have reached the end of the game many times but have never been able to kill the Reaper. Can you do it?
This game is very addictive for most players and doesn’t even cost much, making it a popular way to pass the time while waiting in queue for a different game or while listening to a podcast.
Elder Scrolls v Skyrim
The Elder Scrolls series’ most played and profitable game is Skyrim. I recommend picking up the special edition version from 2016.
Naturally, a game that is accessible across numerous platforms can also be found on the Steam Deck. You play as the main character and follow their story in this game.
Numerous races, such as Nord, Elves, Imperials, and many more, are available for you to select from and customize your character.
Each race has a unique advantage and determines your play style in the early game. Once you progress enough, you can build your character however you want.

Path of Exile
Just as immersive as all the other fantastic games on this list. Grinding Gear Games created this addictive free-to-play action RPG game and released it on October 23, 2013.
You spawn on the shore, and you are an exile. Gradually, you take down the monsters, gather treasure, advance your character’s level, and open up new regions.
This game is for you if you’re against paying for an improved experience because it says it will always be free to play and never be pay-to-win.
This game has a wide range of weapons, spells, items, and other stuff to explore! You can concentrate on strength to create a tank that deals damage, dexterity to create a character that is swift and evasive, or intelligence to create a mage. Characters with multiple attributes also exist.
Stray
This game is the story of a stray cat in a world that looks something like cyberpunk. This is a single-player video game developed by BlueTwelve Studios and published by Annapurna Interactive on July 19, 2022.
This is the perfect game for people looking to chill for a while. You follow the story of a lost stray cat, you complete puzzles, and you explore the world to find your way home.
During the game, you will meet a drone called b-12 that will accompany you on your journey. The entire game involves you following the POV of a cat in a cybercity. The game also has nice immersive music.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
What can I say more about this game? It is a perfect open-world RPG developed and published by CD PROJEKT RED on May 18, 2015.
This is, personally, one of my favourites in fact. It is a perfectly made RPG with great storytelling and beautiful visuals. You follow the story of Geralt of Rivia and Ciri in this game.
You start off playing Geralt, on your way to track down Ciri, a Child of Prophecy. You’re a monster slayer in a war-torn world with various types of monsters and humans.
Always remember: a steel sword for humans, animals, and normal beings, and a silver sword to hunt down the monsters!
Look out for sales, this game is mostly available for a discount in the stores.
God of War
THE GOD OF WAR – who doesn’t know about this game? It is one of the few games that perfectly captures the essence of its renown. Santa Monica Studio developed this game, which Playstaion PC LLC published on January 14, 2022.
You have for sure played the original God of War on the PlayStation at least once in your life if you’re an avid gamer! Kratos has to protect his son Atreus in this version while he makes his way through mortal life among Norse gods and monsters.
But don’t let this fool you; Kratos can get as aggressive as before and hack and slash all his enemies!
I personally didn’t need any convincing reason to purchase and try out this game, It’s God of War and I knew it was going to be one the greatest experiences I would have.
Elden Ring
Finally, one of the best souls games, Elden Ring. Developed and published by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco on February 25, 2022.
Maybe You have heard a lot about this RPG game, it is a favourite of many gamers across the world, including Elon Musk.
Elden Ring has great character customization and a lot of classes to choose from. Create your character and head out into this beautiful world of Elden Ring, but keep in mind, it is a souls game after all, famous for being one of the most difficult games, and of course, there are really huge enemies.
I personally recommend you avoid the Tree Sentinel when the game starts! I forgot how many times I died in his hands, thinking you must defeat him to progress in the game, you don’t have to kill him just yet!
