Robotic pets: How to choose and what you should know about them

July 22, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Communication with pets helps reduce stress levels, distracts from troubles and reduces anxiety. There is even a method of treatment – pet therapy. Four-legged pets make a person move more and expand their social circle – after all, pet lovers will always find common topics for conversation.

Communication with animals is especially useful for older people with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, for children with mental disorders and for patients who are in the hospital for a long time. Pets save them from loneliness, help overcome depression, reduce anxiety and irritability.

But sick people can’t always get a cat or a dog – they can’t take care of them, and nursing home residents and hospital patients aren’t allowed to keep animals. It’s for such people that they made companion robots. [Read more…] about Robotic pets: How to choose and what you should know about them

Clarapath, a robotics company aimed at catalyzing change in the way pathology laboratories process human and animal tissues, has announced “significant company developments”.

Clarapath’s first robotic instrument, called SectionStar, will result in standardization in the quality of tissue sections for molecular mapping of human disease and in the development of new treatment pathways. Clarapath says that SectionStar has reached an important milestone – passing UL certification.

This step is critical to both the non-clinical and clinical deployment of the device, enhancing reliability and efficiency of the pathology lab. [Read more…] about Medical robotics company Clarapath gains certifications and expands global headquarters

Global robotics venture capital investment reaches $5.7 billion in 2021

July 22, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Global robotics venture capital investments reached $5.7 billion in 2021, a 38 percent year-on-year growth, according to a report by ABI Research, a technology intelligence firm.

The growth was driven by successful startups from key markets such as the United States, China, the United Kingdom, and Israel. Leading startups demonstrated strong capabilities in three major domains: mobility, autonomy, and collaboration, specifically human-machine collaboration.

The investment market worldwide was relatively muted in 2020, as fewer deals were concluded due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the current labor shortage induced by Covid-19 and the ongoing supply chain crunch are leading more businesses to look for ways to automate labor-intensive, repetitive, and hazardous tasks.
