Geek+ and WSR Solutions launch smart palletizing solution

August 18, 2021 by Mai Tao Leave a Comment

Geek+, a provider of autonomous mobile robots for warehouses, has launched a new solution for “Smart Mixed Case palletizing”, co-developed with WSR Solutions, a provider of intelligent warehouse management tools.

The solution combines Geek+ autonomous mobile robots and WSR’s intelligent palletizing algorithm to help warehouse operators systematically handle the processing of multiple outbound orders in an efficient, safe, and flexible way.

Lit Fung, vice president of APAC, UK and the Americas at Geek+, says: “We are thrilled to work together with WSR Solutions to provide a tool that targets every aspect of the outbound logistics process, from how goods are stored and moved around the warehouse to how pallets are stacked, streamlining processes by eliminating the need for re-palletization, and optimizing overall space utilization.” [Read more…] about Geek+ and WSR Solutions launch smart palletizing solution

What is Steel Fabrication: Uses, Purpose, and Benefits

August 18, 2021 by Liv Leave a Comment

Steel fabrication is a process that helps turn the raw metal into an item or product that can be used in assembly lines, homes, construction, and other places. This process requires skilled technicians who can ensure minimum to no errors to eliminate or reduce wastage.

Steel fabrication involves various techniques. Some basic ones are machining, welding, cutting, drilling, coating, and bending to turn the material into predefined customer shapes and sizes.

In machining, technicians use drills, lathes, and mills to remove unwanted materials and model the metal into the required shape and size. In trimming, processes like flame, water jet, or plasma cutting are used to slice steel into dimensions that are easy to work with. Researchers look to visual psychophysics and machine learning in attempt to read ancient text

August 18, 2021 by Liv Leave a Comment

In an attempt to facilitate the reading of ancient handwriting, Researchers at the University of Notre Dame are working on an AI grounded in human perception.

It is the hope that the endeavor will help to preserve millions of manuscripts, some of which have never even been read. While some of these texts are already available to the public through digital captures, this is a minority.

The project is set to make handwritten manuscripts readily available with automated transcription. [Read more…] about Researchers look to visual psychophysics and machine learning in attempt to read ancient text

Teknic ClearPath servos power Guinness World Record domino robot

August 18, 2021 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Teknic’s ClearPath servos were used to power a much-talked-about robot called “the Dominator”, a Guinness World Record setting robot, made by Mark Rober (main picture).

In just over 24 hours, the Dominator placed more than over 100,000 dominos to create a Super Mario Brothers mural. (See video below.)

Teknic’s all-in-one servos were used to power the omnidirectional wheels to place 300 dominos at a time, with an accuracy of a couple millimeters. [Read more…] about Teknic ClearPath servos power Guinness World Record domino robot
