Electric SUVs Launching in 2021

December 21, 2020 by Polly Leave a Comment

SUVs were known for their pollution but now they’re at the forefront of car development. Electric SUVs are eco-friendly, powerful, and gorgeous.

An electric car is a technological wonder in its own right. The cars are getting better by the minute, and they’re able to go for longer without charging.

Huge progress is being made when it comes to power, size, technology, and design. Electric cars really are the future.

Many of the cars launching in 2021 look like they’ve been taken straight out of science fiction movies. Here are some new electric SUVs to look out for.

Nissan Ariya

Nissan Ariya is an electric SUV with as much power as you expect from an SUV. It has enough technological features to make any drive a walk in the park.

One of the features is what Nissan calls Nissan Intelligent Mobility. Here you have something called ProPILOT with a Navi-link, which drives for you while you’re in a traffic jam.

It helps you hold your lane and you’ll be able to lean back and relax. Gone are the days of honking and calling names.

There is also a ProPILOT Park function. With just the press of a button, the car will park for you. Once more you can lean back, relax and let the car do the driving.

You’ll also be able to get GPS information directly on your front windshield. Here you can look at speed, navigation and other types of information.

You get to see the road both physically and digitally, and you don’t need to look down while driving anymore. One safety hazard less.

This feature turns your windshield into some sort of huge Google Glass. You’ve definitely seen this in a science fiction movie before.

Electric cars are the cars of the future, and Nissan Ariya is definitely futuristic. Ariya also has a couple of huge screens.

Here you’ll look at different types of information, and you’ll be able to display apps. Amazon Alexa Audio® is integrated, and you can ask her everything from changing your playlist to help you find a place to eat along the road.

Tesla Cybertruck

It’s of course impossible to talk about the future without mentioning Tesla. At first, thought to be a joke, then ridiculed for its extreme design, and now available for pre-orders at Tesla’s website.

It still looks like the science fiction vehicle everyone made fun of. It doesn’t even look like a car but some strange looking tank that was built to withstand heavy enemy bombardment.

Its tagline is “Better utility than a truck with more performance than a sports car.” And with good reason. There are three different versions of the SUV, but the fastest one, the one with the Tri-Motor All-Wheel Drive, goes from 0 to 60 mph in a whopping 2,9 seconds.

GMC Hummer EV

It’s an unexpected comeback, for sure. You would think that the world had seen the last of the Hummer.

The world is becoming greener and greener and these huge SUVs were among the worst polluters in the car industry. Is there a place for Hummer in the new world?

Yes, of course, there is because Hummer is going electric. In the fall of 2021, GMC is launching the Hummer EV.

The huge truck has 1000 horsepower, goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds and has a bunch of driver-assistance features. It can even crab-walk – which of course means that it can drive diagonally.

Electric Cars are Becoming Affordable

Electric cars are becoming more popular all over the world. As more and more people drive them, there will also be built more infrastructure to cater to electric car owners.

More charging stations means that it’s easier to go on longer trips. When more people buy these cars, the manufacturers will also start to compete on price.

Still, an electric car tends to be somewhat more expensive than a car running on fossil fuel. If you want to be a part of the green revolution right now, you might want to consider taking up a car loan.

Some banks even offer loans that are specially designed for people who want to go green, with lower interest rates than regular car loans.

Leasing might also be an option. Then you get to try the car for some time before you buy it. Some dealerships will give you a better price if you lease for a few years before buying. Talk to your local leasing company about their offers.
