Pick-by-Vision by Picavi Predicted as #1 MODEX 2020 Superstar

January 28, 2020 by David Edwards

By Carsten Funke, Chief Sales Officer for Picavi

And the winner for the most important logistics solution at MODEX 2020 in Atlanta, GA, March 9-12 is the hands down favorite: Picavi Cockpit (at Booth 5485).

Picavi Cockpit

The Picavi Cockpit tool generates smart data for managing, maintaining, and customizing the screen of the Pick-by-Vision glasses: analytics, mobile device management (MDM), and configurator. Users benefit from enormous time and cost savings, greater flexibility and transparency, as well as improved process quality.

Unlike anything else at MODEX, this innovation unleashes the full potential of order picking supported by assisted reality (AR). With the smart data function analytics, sensors on the glasses collect process parameters that can be evaluated using the Picavi Cockpit.

Wi-Fi coverage in the warehouse

An application example is Wi-Fi coverage in the warehouse. The interaction between Picavi Cockpit and data glasses means the signal can be measured at each individual storage location. “Dead” zones or areas with weak signal coverage, can lead to interruptions in the picking process, quickly become visible.

Individual KPIs (such as picks per hour or per location) can be defined in analytics and monitored in dashboards.

Warehouse optimization potential

Another innovation breakthrough is the identification of warehouse optimization potential. Ensuring that items are stored in accordance with the ABC analysis are now axiomatic. Employees take the best routes when walking through the warehouse.

Faulty scans at a storage location are eliminated. The Picavi Cockpit eliminates disruptive factors by detecting and eliminating them beforehand, increasing and automating process quality.

Automating functionality of smart data

Mobile device management and automation in the Picavi Cockpit ensures functionality of smart data glasses with minimal effort. A one-scan setup simplifies the addition of new glasses to the fleet. Simply scanning the barcode starts the configuration process.

The glasses are ready for practical use in just a few steps. Wireless updates can be installed “over the air” using the breakthrough automation software. Users benefit from lower support costs without sacrificing security standards.

Automating integrated screencast functions is suitable for training new employees to modern standards. The glasses’ real-time display can be rapidly projected onto a monitor, clarifying work steps.

Picavi is offering its business customers a Google product that takes order picking with a wearable computing device to a whole new level.

As one of just 16 global Glass partners, the world-leading provider of Pick-by-Vision solutions is expanding its hardware portfolio with Glass Enterprise Edition 2.

The glasses update enables better performance, an improved energy balance and greater compatibility. Together with Picavi’s specially adapted software components, these features deliver greater efficiency in visually guided order picking processes.

Glass Enterprise Edition II

Glass is an integral part of Picavi’s ‘ecosystem’ of hardware and software for Pick-by-Vision. Right from the start, Picavi has always focused on making products compatible. Users value this too, as the solution is now used across the entire intralogistics sector.

The close collaboration with the Glass team has also contributed greatly to the company’s success and generates synergies for both parties. With the new Glass Enterprise Edition 2, customers get cutting-edge smart glasses that combine the best elements of previous models with new features and capabilities.

New features for more power

The Glass Enterprise Edition 2 glasses come with a whole range of brand-new technical specifications. These include a powerful Qualcomm quad-core processor and the Android 8.1 operating system, also known as Android Oreo.

This not only makes the glasses faster, but also ensures a longer battery life. Connectivity has also been improved with the highest possible standards in transmission technology.

The Glass Enterprise Edition 2 is also part of the Android Open Source platform, making the glasses even more flexible and customizable.

MODEX Booth 5485

The Picavi Cockpit – the world’s leading supplier of smart Pick-by-Vision glasses will be presented at MODEX booth 5485.
