‘Trillions of billions’ of alien robots near Earth and about to invade

October 22, 2019 by Sam Francis

A staggering “trillions of billions” of alien robots could be about to invade Earth, according to a credible and down-to-earth astrophysicist.

And because they are likely to be self-replicating alien robots, they could overwhelm our planet with some unimaginable numbers.

This terrifying prospect is being reported by Fox News, which quotes Zaza Osmanov, of Georgia’s University of Tbilisi. [Read more…] about ‘Trillions of billions’ of alien robots near Earth and about to invade

Drift Eliminators Used In Cooling Towers

October 22, 2019 by Liv

To understand how cooling tower drift eliminators work, it is of great importance to first understand what cooling towers fundamentally are.

Basically cooling towers as the name suggests are an integral part of large scale industrial cooling systems.

Basically, it is used as a heat removal device, which works on the basic principle of evaporation. Their main purpose compromises of reducing the water temperature used in industrial cooling operations. [Read more…] about Drift Eliminators Used In Cooling Towers

SICK launches new superfast camera system for industrial processes

October 22, 2019 by David Edwards

SICK has launched a new superfast camera system for industrial environments.

The sensor specialist says the new “EventCam” can eliminate spontaneous errors in the manufacturing process.

This industrial-grade 2D camera brings clarity when unexplained gripping, handling, and positioning problems arise or when unreproducible installation errors or machine downtimes occur. [Read more…] about SICK launches new superfast camera system for industrial processes

ExRobotics and Yokogawa to develop robotics for inspection of hazardous environments

October 22, 2019 by Mai Tao

ExRobotics and Yokogawa Electric have signed a licensing agreement that will enable Yokogawa to sell and deploy ExRobotics’ inspection robot hardware and software platforms worldwide.

ExRobotics is a Netherlands-based developer of robotics technology for hazardous environments, and Yokogawa Electric Corporation is a global provider of industrial automation, control, and measurement technology.

ExRobotics was established in 2017 to commercialise robotics technology for use in the potentially explosive atmospheres found at oil and gas production and processing facilities, which are often in remote locations with harsh environments. Helping robots and humans work hand in hand

October 22, 2019 by David Edwards

As the internet-connected world continues to transform the manufacturing and logistics industry, Technische Universität Dortmund is leading the way in research into human-robot interaction.

With the help of Vicon’s cutting-edge motion capture and VR solutions, the University is developing innovative ways to approach the coexistence of drones and robots with people in warehouse environments.

The manufacturing and logistics sector faces a major challenge: how best to serve the ever-growing e-commerce market – with increasingly small-scale shipments and shorter delivery deadlines – in a cost-effective and sustainable way. [Read more…] about Helping robots and humans work hand in hand

HRG launches new ‘automated guided vehicle’

October 22, 2019 by Mai Tao

HRG has launched what it describes as an “automated guided vehicle”, although it appears to have the technology that is also found in autonomous mobile robots, which are slightly different.

AGVs are older technology and are limited in their ability to navigate their way round a facility – usually, magnetic strips are fixed to the floor to guide them.

HRG says its AGV integrates “simultaneous localization and mapping”, or SLAM, the navigation technology that gives AMRs their autonomy. [Read more…] about HRG launches new ‘automated guided vehicle’
