MiR showcases its mobile robots at CIIF 2019

October 3, 2019 by Mai Tao

Mobile Industrial Robots showcased its autonomous mobile robot solutions at the recent China International Industry Fair.

Making its public debut was the MiR1000 robot, which can carry heavy loads and pallets weighing up to 1 ton.

Thomas Visti, CEO of MiR, says: “This is our second time participating in CIIF, so it’s a great opportunity to showcase our MiR1000 robot, one of the industry’s largest autonomous mobile robots to date.

“This event marks its first public demonstration in China and across the Asia-Pacific region. The introduction of MiR1000 is in line with the human-machine collaboration mega-trend currently overtaking the global manufacturing industry, while meeting market demand for advanced intralogistics solutions.

“Technological innovation is our focus, and we are recognized across the industry for developing safe and reliable mobile robots that facilitate human-machine collaboration. MiR remains as committed as ever to offering new solutions for driving innovation in internal logistics efficiency.”

Emil Hauch Jensen, MiR’s vice president of sales China, says: “Indeed, MiR views safety as the cornerstone of technological development and market expansion, and the booming Chinese market is a key focus for MiR.

“To this end, we have made considerable inroads into the local market to help local industries, such as the electronics, manufacturing, and automobile industries, optimize internal logistics efficiency.

“MiR provides the world’s latest cutting-edge AMRs, which deliver benefits that raise production automation levels for our customers.”

The MiR1000 robot was one of the highlights for MiR at CIIF 2019.

Since its launch in April 2019, MiR1000 has attracted a great deal of attention in the industry for its ability to automatically pick up, transport, and deliver pallets and other heavy loads weighing up to 1,000 kg across dynamic environments.

It is a collaborative, safe, and flexible alternative to potentially dangerous and expensive forklifts on the factory floor.

MiR1000 meets the need for both heavy and light transportation, optimizing logistics throughout the entire production chain, from the warehouse to the delivery of goods.

At the MiR booth, visitors were able to interact with a full range of MiR robotics solutions, which comply with the industry’s most stringent safety standards.

Also on show was the MiRFleet fleet management software, which brings even greater efficiency and value to any MiR fleet by allowing users to simultaneously manage and direct up to 100 MiR robots from a central workstation.

In addition to MiR1000, MiR offers a full range of other AMR solutions, including MiR500, MiR200, and MiR100, which are rated for 500, 200, and 100 kg loads respectively.

Each offers its own advantages, and is uniquely suited to different objectives.

MiR robots can safely enhance efficiency in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, medical, and other fields across the globe, satisfying the complexity of internal logistics across a diverse range of applications.

Besides developing the world’s most cutting-edge robot technologies at present, MiR is always looking to the future, with a commitment to developing mobile robot technologies that better meet the expectations of internal logistics applications.

In view of rapid advances in artificial intelligence technology, MiR is continuously exploring ways to incorporate AI technology into mobile robotics.

MiR recently published a white paper titled Artificial Intelligence Drives Advances in Collaborative Mobile Robots, which shows how AI can help mobile robots distinguish between different obstacles to enhance safety and improve internal logistics.

Since entering the Chinese market in 2017, MiR has prioritized its development there.

MiR says it has “achieved important milestones on the strength of our excellent technical advantages, embedded diversified applications, and keen industry foresight”.

MiR says market expansion remains a strong focus in 2019 as it gradually build and expand its sales channels throughout the country.
