Universal Robots partners with Bharat Fritz Werner in India

India is emerging as one of the fastest growing economies in the new millennium and the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) segment is expected to play a significant role in this growth.

Universal Robots is aiming to penetrate the sector with new and affordable automation solutions with a collaboration with Bharat Fritz Werner (BFW), India’s largest machine tool manufacturer, and integrate collaborative robots in manufacturing processes.

The partnership aims to disrupt the MSME segment with top-notch automation solutions and for CNC machines.

This collaboration will assist Universal Robots in redefining production processes through introduction of its robotic arms.

Advanced user-friendly and light industrial robotic arms will dramatically impact productivity, quality and working conditions in the MSME segment as it will automate and streamline repetitive industrial processes along with increased productivity and efficiency.

“Universal Robots and BFW strategic partnership will bring collaborative robot technology on a modular flexible platform to MSME shop floors to enhance their manufacturing competitiveness significantly,” said Ravi Raghavan, CEO, BFW.

Praful Shende, CSMO, BFW adds: “Deployment of collaborative robot technology will help Indian organisations to realise the creative potential of their teams by engaging them in higher value creation activities. The BFW and Universal Robots alliance will act as a major catalyst for these initiatives.”
