Where Innovation Meets Imagination

Air Power Products gains ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Air Power Products, a manufacturer and distributor of lubricated and oil-less air compressors, vacuum systems, regenerative blowers, regenerative compressed air dryers and other associated products, has gained certification status under the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

The company was awarded the new certificate in January this year, and had earned its first ISO 9001 certification in February 2001, under the ISO 9001-2000 standard.

The ISO 9001:2015 is an upgrade to the ISO 9001-2008 standard.

This standard is devised by International Organization for Standardization, which is an association comprising several governmental and non-governmental organizations from across the globe.

The ISO 9001:2015 standard enables businesses to materialize their quality commitments, and provide services and products that meet customer’s approval, and fulfill applicable regulatory and statutory requirements.

APPL president Grant Eagle says: “Over the past 18 years, we have achieved continuous registration without interruption.

“Our quality assurance program enables us to provide customers with consistent quality products through diligent and recorded design and assembly processes.

“As required under the standards, we strive for continuous improvement in our operations and product offerings. Our primary goal is customer satisfaction.”

The path to certification isn’t easy and demands extensive preparations. APPL started with their internal audits in late 2016.

As a first step, they evaluated their existing procedures, and tried aligning them with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

As the company was already operating and in compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 standard, the focus for changes were required in the upgraded areas for quality processes and procedures in the revised standard.

Finally, the recertification was obtained at the end of a rigorous external audit conducted by third-party registrar BSI Management Systems.

APPL is confident that this new certification will enable it to align multiple management standards, upkeep its commitment to quality, as well as improve operational performance, and increase business profits.
