Where Innovation Meets Imagination

B&R launches new widget for dynamic human machine interface design

B&R has launched a new widget that the company says makes dynamic human machine interface design easy.

The widget enables the creation of HMI animations with the mapp View’s “Paper” widget.

The new widget is offered with B&R’s web-based HMI solution.

The company says makes it “easier than ever” to visualize complex manufacturing processes with dynamic HMI content.

Called “Paper”, the widget allows users to animate SVG images with runtime data.

The animations are also configurable from a single SVG image, says the company.

“Simply drag and drop the new widget onto the desired page in your HMI application and configure it there,” says B&R.

At runtime, animation of the SVG image can be controlled directly from the application program.

Rotations, transitions and movements can all be animated from a single SVG image – saving the time and cost otherwise needed to create sequences of multiple images, claims B&R.

The widget also enables high-resolution zoom, which maximises one of the advantages of using SVG images.

SVG images, unlike JPEGs and other formats, are based on vector graphics, or lines, so “they retain their high resolution without any loss of quality even when zoomed in”, claims B&R.
