Epson Robots expands SCARA lineup with high-payload LS50C

May 18, 2026 by David Edwards

Epson Robots has expanded its SCARA lineup with the new LS50C. As Epson’s largest payload SCARA, the LS50C is designed to deliver powerful performance and flexibility in a compact, cost-effective form factor.

Offering multiple configurations, with a 1,000 mm reach and support for payloads up to 50 kg, it is engineered to handle demanding, high-precision automation needs while maximizing capability and minimizing footprint.

Paired with SafeSense technology, which may reduce the need for traditional safety guarding in certain applications, following proper risk assessment, the system enables users with a more efficient use of space and can contribute to lowering the overall cost of their automation setup. ABB Robotics launches OmniCore EyeMotion for vision-powered autonomy

September 23, 2025 by Sam Francis

ABB Robotics has launched OmniCore EyeMotion, which enables any OmniCore-powered robot to recognize its surroundings using any third-party camera or sensor and adapt in real time, even in complex applications.

Marc Segura, president of ABB Robotics, says: “Over the past decade, we have evolved AI vision to give robots “eyes” that can see the world in 3D, but previously this required advanced camera hardware.

“In one step, OmniCore EyeMotion grants any robot the ability to both see and understand the world around it, for a wide range of 2D and 3D vision-based applications, advancing autonomy and versatility.” [Read more…] about ABB Robotics launches OmniCore EyeMotion for vision-powered autonomy

Technical insight: System-based guidance for robot vision

January 29, 2019 by David Edwards

sick robot vision

In this article, SICK, one of the largest providers of sensors to industry, provides an insight into robot vision, position determination and part localization in 2D and 3D

SICK’s Robot Vision portfolio contains a whole range of innovative solutions for 2D and 3D localization of parts in automated, robot-assisted handling processes.

Different options are available to suit each task: Streaming cameras, vision sensors, snapshot cameras, or smart cameras become the robot’s eyes based on the measuring ranges, fields of view and volumes of view, resolutions, or part movements involved in the task.

The system solutions are designed with easy integration and fast operational readiness in mind, at both installation and operation level.  [Read more…] about Technical insight: System-based guidance for robot vision
