ABB launches AppStudio no-code tool for robot interface programming

January 17, 2025 by David Edwards

ABB has launched AppStudio, which the company describes as an intuitive no-code software tool designed to empower users of all experience levels to quickly and easily create customized robotic user interfaces.

With intuitive functionality and features including a collaborative cloud-based library enabling users to share application templates, AppStudio will reduce setup times by up to 80 percent.

Marc Segura, president ABB Robotics, says: “A growing shortage of skilled labor requires the further simplification of automation and programming, especially among small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) where complexity is seen as a major barrier to implementing robotic automation. Opentrons launches no-code robot pipette with versatility of liquid handler

September 17, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Opentrons Labworks, a specialist in lab automation and accessible robotics, has launched its Opentrons Flex Prep robot, paired with new no-code software that allows users to “quickly set up a pipetting task and to execute that workflow all through the Flex Prep touchscreen”.

This innovative system integrates seamlessly into laboratory workflows, allowing users to set up pipetting tasks via an intuitive touchscreen interface.

Flex Prep combines the simplicity of a pipette with the power and versatility of a liquid handler, providing scientists with both ease of use and enhanced capability. With the touchscreen software, users can develop, visualize, and run pipetting tasks in as little as a minute. Empowering Innovation: No-Code Platforms in Robotic and Automation Systems

July 22, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in robotics and automation has already begun transforming industries from manufacturing to healthcare.

However, the programming complexity and the high development cost have often acted as barriers, preventing small businesses and individual innovators from entering the field.

This is where no-code platforms come in. They let you build complex systems with minimal coding experience, revolutionizing the development of robotic applications. [Read more…] about Empowering Innovation: No-Code Platforms in Robotic and Automation Systems

Augmentus raises $5 million to expand ‘no-code robotics’ offering

December 11, 2023 by Mai Tao

Augmentus, a developer of “no-code” robotics software, has successfully raised $5 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Sierra Ventures, along with Cocoon Capital.

Conventional robot programming is fragmented and costly, requiring extensive training and expertise due to proprietary programming languages. This results in 75 percent of lifetime costs being attributed to software and programming.

The industrial robotics software market is expected to reach $47 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 27 percent. Augmentus aims to disrupt this market. [Read more…] about Augmentus raises $5 million to expand ‘no-code robotics’ offering

Wandelbots expands no-code solution to US with Yaskawa as early customer

February 3, 2023 by David Edwards

Wandelbots, the German-based no-code robotics software firm, recently opened a US headquarters in Chicago to expand its global operations and accelerate human-centered robotics solutions in the manufacturing industry.

Its signature software, Wandelbots Teaching, works the same with any robot, allowing users to control various models with no prior programming knowledge.

As the industrial robotics market continues to grow, developers and end users need an easy-to-use platform for robotic automation. [Read more…] about Wandelbots expands no-code solution to US with Yaskawa as early customer

No-Code Automation Testing Guide

December 26, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Huge CRT monitors gave way to the thinnest LCDs; a landline is no longer needed to patch you through to a friend; and cars can move without human involvement. Everything is moving forward, and the field of software development is shifting gears as well.

According to Gartner, no-code tools will be used in the process of developing 70 percent of apps by 2025. No-code/low-code testing is also gaining momentum, and enterprises are widely adopting the new technology to keep testing fast and effective.

Take a DogQ No Code Automation Testing, for example. It’s an innovative app with a simple and intuitive interface that can be used by anyone who doesn’t possess extensive knowledge of testing. [Read more…] about No-Code Automation Testing Guide

Cobots and no code: Robotics for everyone

March 30, 2022 by David Edwards

Almost three months before the start of automatica, which takes place from June 21 to 24 at the Munich Exhibition Center, one thing is certain: never before has there been such a wide range of collaborative robots as this year. And they are easier to use than ever.

The latter also applies to industrial robots. Here, no-code robotics allows an almost playful handling of robots.

These and many other developments pursue one goal: the democratization of robotics. In the future, anyone should be able to operate robots without special knowledge. With cobots, this is already possible thanks to simple programming options. [Read more…] about Cobots and no code: Robotics for everyone
