MassRobotics launches second robotics accelerator offering $100,000 per company

MassRobotics, a Boston, US-based independent robotics innovation hub, has launched its second MassRobotics Accelerator, in partnership with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech).

Following the success of the inaugural program, the upcoming accelerator will continue to support and advance robotics entrepreneurs with bespoke programming, individual mentorship, and immersion in the world-class MassRobotics ecosystem.

MassRobotics, an independent robotics innovation hub, has launched the inaugural MassRobotics Accelerator, powered by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech).

MassRobotics unveils participants in healthcare robotics startup competition

MassRobotics – in partnership with Festo, Mitsubishi Electric, Novanta and Mitre – has announced the participants in the Healthcare Robotics Startup Catalyst Cohort II.

The selected companies are:

  • Acumino;
  • Robot on Rails;
  • Able Human Motion;
  • Andromeda Robotics;
  • Unlimited Robotics;
  • Maestro Surgical Robotics; and
  • Zeta Surgical.

MassRobotics partners with AMD to advance adaptive computing in robotics

MassRobotics, an innovation hub and startup cluster focused on the needs of the robotics community, is partnering with chip giant AMD to introduce and deliver technologies to robotics startups.

Through the industrial suite of AMD tools, platforms and an accelerated app store designed for the robotics industry, robotics startups will be able to further develop innovative solutions around automation, mobility, AI and machine vision-related applications.

AMD, widely known for their FPGAs (field programmable gate arrays) and adaptive SoCs (system-on-chips), are bringing offerings, such as the Kria KR260 Robotics Starter Kit and Kria Robotic Stack (KRS), which are focused on bringing easy-to-integrate hardware acceleration of ROS 2 to MassRobotics resident startups. MassRobotics, Festo, Mitsubishi Electric Automation, MITRE and Novanta are calling on startups in the healthcare robotics space to apply to the second Healthcare Robotics Startup Catalyst program.

Financial analyst Cowen teams up with MassRobotics to examine robotics and climate change

Investment research company Cowen and startup incubator MassRobotics announced a groundbreaking research report on the increasing role robotics is playing in helping companies achieve climate goals.

Joe Giordano, CFA, Cowen’s diversified industrials, automation and robotics analyst, led the Ahead Of The Curve Series report, which incorporated a survey from MassRobotics that polled manufacturers and end-users to understand where robotics is positioned within their climate toolkit.

MassRobotics launches $50,000 robotics competition

MassRobotics, a robotics innovation organization, has issued a call for nominations for The Robotics Medal, a new annual award presented to a female researcher for substantial achievements and contributions in the field of robotics.

The Robotics Medal is the world’s first major prize to recognize the wide-ranging impact of female researchers around the development of robotics around the globe.
