Universal Robots showcases deep learning-based part detection for machine tending cobots at IMTS

When Universal Robots (UR) recently surveyed 1,200 manufacturers across North America and Europe about their use of technology and future investment plans, over 50 percent of the respondents indicated they are now using AI and machine learning in their production processes.

“AI isn’t just hype,” says Ujjwal Kumar, group president of Teradyne Robotics, parent company of Universal Robots.

“We’re seeing significant interest in physical AI. Caracol to debut ‘groundbreaking’ robotic large-format additive manufacturing platform at IMTS

Caracol will use IMTS to demonstrate how manufacturers can produce industrial large-scale 3D printed parts with more efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability, thanks to its advanced technology.

Via live on-booth 3D printing with its partner, Kuka, (booth #236807, West Hall), visitors will be able to get an up-close look at the capabilities of LFAM via Caracol’s innovative flagship Heron AM integrated AM platform.

This modular hardware-software robotic system works on 6+ axes to enable manufacturers in key sectors like aerospace, automotive, energy and maritime, to produce thermoplastic composite parts with very complex geometries and with no scale or shape limits. Kawasaki Robotics launches new ‘advanced collaborative robots’ at IMTS

Kawasaki Robotics is demonstrating new additions to its extensive robotics portfolio, including the new CL Series of intelligent collaborative robots (cobots), at IMTS in Chicago September 9-14.

The CL Series cobots, available for order in multiple payloads, and the new industrial robotic solutions featured for applications such as welding, machine tending and material removal give manufacturers limitless flexibility and advanced capabilities when choosing automation to meet their diverse needs.

IMTS makes a roaring start

The IMTS 2024 Show has opened to a roaring start in with “historic numbers”, according to the organisers.

The Western Hemisphere’s largest manufacturing event, IMTS 2024 – The International Manufacturing Technology Show opened on Monday, September 9, 2024.

A breathtaking array of technology in 10 different manufacturing sectors awaits the biennial gathering of manufacturing professionals at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Olis Robotics to launch new PLC capabilities at IMTS

Olis Robotics will launch what it says is “the world’s most comprehensive remote diagnostics solution for industrial automation cells” at IMTS 2024 in Chicago, September 9-14, following the addition of powerful new PLC capabilities to its Olis solution.

Olis provides video and telemetry-based diagnostics for industrial cells, enabling technicians to diagnose the root cause of downtime events, such as a robot failure.

International Manufacturing Technology Show cancelled for first time since World War 2

One of the world’s largest trade shows, the International Manufacturing Technology Show, held every two years in Chicago, United States, has been cancelled for first time since World War 2.

The organisers cited concerns over coronavirus as the main reason.

In a press release, IMTS says: “Because of health and safety requirements imposed by the state of Illinois for holding conventions, which include the availability of a vaccine for the Covid-19 virus or a highly effective treatment protocol, IMTS – The International Manufacturing Technology Show has announced that it has cancelled IMTS 2020.” [Read more…] about International Manufacturing Technology Show cancelled for first time since World War 2

Interview: IMTS organisers to launch new manufacturing technology event next year

Interview with Peter Eelman (main picture), vice president, exhibitions and business development, AMT – the Association For Manufacturing Technology

The International Manufacturing Technology Show partnered with European media to spread awareness of the show and attract visitors. This year it set all-time records for show metrics and welcomed 129,415 people from across the globe. There were 2,123 booths over 1,424,232 sq ft of exhibit space and 2,563 exhibiting companies.

Following the recent show, Peter Eelman spoke about its success and why IMTS is such an important event for European companies.

IMTS: This year’s show was the ‘largest ever’, say organisers

Exponential technology advances, strong economy propel North America’s premier manufacturing show

A rapidly transforming industry sparked IMTS 2018 – the International Manufacturing Technology Show – to set all-time records for show metrics.

The 32nd edition of the show drew a record registration of 129,415 people and featured 1,424,232 sq ft of exhibit space representing 2,123 booths and 2,563 exhibiting companies.

IMTS 2018 ran from September 10-15 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
