What happened to Germany? Manufacturing giant crumbles before our eyes

January 15, 2025 by David Edwards

Germany, often hailed as Europe’s economic powerhouse, is grappling with a significant downturn in its manufacturing sector. Once the cornerstone of its robust economy, manufacturing is now facing serious challenges that threaten the stability of the wider economy.

This is resulting in increased demand and adoption of minimally invasive surgeries and is one of the key drivers for the growth of the surgical robotics market.

So here are some predictions that foresee changes in the coming year within the surgical robotics market, telehealth and telesurgery, and augmented intelligence. [Read more…] about Opinion: Predictions about the surgical robots market

Coronavirus pandemic causing grocers to invest in robotics, says report

June 12, 2020 by David Edwards

The coronavirus pandemic is causing grocers to invest more in robotics, according to a study published by the Retail Analytics Council ahead of the Retail Robotics and AI Conference.

The RAC retail robotics research report, Emerging Trends in Retail Robotics, says the Covid-19 outbreak gives grocers an additional reason to use robots in retail – “to assist with customer and employee safety”.

However, the industry was already expanding its use of robots, notes the RAC in its report. [Read more…] about Coronavirus pandemic causing grocers to invest in robotics, says report

Paperless offices: Pipe dream or near-future reality?

October 17, 2019 by Liv

A paperless office would be ideal for the environment, but could it be possible?

There are many ways of lowering your paperwork, and considering what you need to print would be a step into reducing paper consumption.

Reducing printing would also decrease the amount of money that comes out of the overall business budget. [Read more…] about Paperless offices: Pipe dream or near-future reality?
