Startups in the Robotics Industry

October 13, 2023 by David Edwards

By Michael Mayr, industrial equipment industry sales strategy expert, Dassault Systèmes

Every robotics startup starts with just a clever idea. A clever idea that will bring technology to a specific industry, use case or application and answer the growing need for automation, due in particular to worldwide human aging and the labor shortage it creates, but also for re- and nearshoring demand based on global supply-chain issues.

Figures reflect this observation. The number of industrial robots has consistently increased in the past few years and will keep doing so: we can expect a growth of 7 percent per year from 2023 until 2030. There is a similar trend for services robots with a growth of 37 percent of professional service robots in 2021.

Traditional Robotics players will not be able to cover the increasing gap of robotic-based automation worldwide alone the next 10 years. Therefor the attention from the markets is extremely high to the new powerful Robotics Startups communities to close the gap. [Read more…] about Startups in the Robotics Industry

Airbus and Dassault Systèmes to partner on digital transformation

February 12, 2019 by Anna

Airbus and Dassault Systèmes have signed a five-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to cooperate on the implementation of collaborative 3D design, engineering, manufacturing, simulation and intelligence applications.

This will enable Airbus to take a major step forward in its digital transformation and lay the foundation for a new European industrial ecosystem in aviation.

Under the MOA, Airbus will deploy Dassault Systèmes’ 3Dexperience platform, which delivers digital continuity, from design to operations, in a single data model, making digital design, manufacturing and services (DDMS) a company-wide reality for all Airbus divisions and product lines.

Dassault Systèmes is collaborating with Granta Design to help product innovation teams make more informed decisions about the materials they use for the products they are developing and the experiences they want to deliver.

Dassault Systèmes’ 3DExperience platform will integrate with Granta Design’s Granta MI system for materials information management,  so approved information from a company’s materials database will be directly available to its product innovation teams on the 3DExperience platform.

Designers, engineers, simulation analysts and other stakeholders will be able to quickly access accurate and consistent information on materials and their properties, and check that requirements on their structural behaviour, cost, application, compliance or sustainability are fulfilled.
