The global semiconductor market is growing at a phenomenal rate, evidence of which can be seen by anyone who cares to look around them.

Almost everyone on Earth either directly or indirectly uses some sort of device or machine which contains semiconductor technology.

And in some ways, this is just the beginning of the semiconductor revolution.

Toyota Motor Europe and Dassault Systèmes collaborate on ‘next-generation digital marketing’ system

STMicroelectronics’ sensors to provide data for new Qeexo machine learning products

Qeexo, a developer of machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions for sensor data, and STMicroelectronics, a semiconductor company, are partnering to further accelerate integration of Qeexo’s FingerSense technology by original equipment manufacturers.

Already, Qeexo’s FingerSense platform, which can differentiate between fingertip, knuckle, nail, and stylus-based touches, has been deployed on over 100 million devices worldwide.

Semtech launches new solution for ‘next-generation’ LoRa platform

Semtech, a supplier of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, has launched its “next-generation” LoRa devices and wireless radio frequency (RF) technology (LoRa Technology) chipsets enabling innovative LPWAN use cases for consumers with its advanced technology.

Addressing the need for cost-effective and reliable sensor-to-cloud connectivity in any type of RF environment, the new features and capabilities will significantly improve the performance and capability of Internet of Things (IoT) sensor applications that demand ultra-low power, small form factor and long range wireless connectivity with a shortened product development cycle.

Panasonic Corporation today announced the establishment of Panasonic System Solutions North America Company as a division of Panasonic Corporation of North America, Panasonic’s Newark, New Jersey-based subsidiary.

Global semiconductor industry breaks monthly sales record and edges closer to $400 billion annual sales

Worldwide sales of semiconductors reached $37.7 billion for the month of November 2017, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association. 

The above figure represents an increase of 21.5 percent compared with the November 2016 total of $31 billion and 1.6 percent more than the October 2017 total of $37.1 billion.

Nachi-Fujikoshi profits increase by 44 per cent, led by strong demand for industrial robots

Nachi-Fujikoshi, one of the world’s largest industrial robot manufacturers, is believed to have increased its profits by 44 per cent. 

The industrial robots segment is said to have grown by more than 50 per cent and now accounts for more than 10 per cent of sales.
