Dr Koh Poh Koon officiates at Singapore International Robo Expo

Earlier today, Dr Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry, officiated at the opening of Singapore International Robo Expo 2018.

Alibaba and Cainiao open China’s ‘largest’ robot-operated warehouse

Supply chain robotics company Cainiao has installed 700 robots at China’s largest robot-run warehouse to process orders on Singles Day, according to a report on CNBC. 

The warehouse, located in Wuxi, near Shanghai, is owned by e-commerce giant Alibaba, which is also majority-owner of Cainiao, and Singles Day is said to generate more than $25 billion in sales.

China-US trade dispute causing industrial robot makers to forecast lower earnings

The ongoing trade dispute between China and the US has caused three of the world’s largest industrial robot makers to lower their earnings forecasts, according to a report on Nikkei.

Yaskawa, Kuka, and Fanuc have all “downgraded their full-year earnings forecasts”, reports Nikkei.

Cincoze launches new rugged embedded computer for industrial applications

Cincoze, a manufacturer of embedded computing platforms, has launched its latest rugged embedded computer DS-1200 series.

The system is equipped with Intel Q370 chipset and supports the 8th Gen Intel Core / Pentium / Celeron 35W/65W LGA 1151 processors family.

UL International establishes headquarters in Singapore as part of Asian expansion

Global safety science organization UL International is expanding its presence in the Asian region through additional investment and by establishing Singapore as its international headquarters.

Dr Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Keith Williams, CEO, UL, witnessed the signing ceremony at the inaugural Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific held at Singapore Expo.

DJI launches new Phantom drone for construction surveying

DJI, a maker of civilian drones and aerial imaging technology, has launched its new drone, the Phantom 4 RTK.

The company is emphasising its application in construction surveying. (See video below.)
