The 45th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 28th electronicAsia are under way at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, drawing more than 3,200 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions.
The twin events, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and MMI Asia, run concurrently and continue to attract a global audience of technology companies, investors, and buyers.
This year’s fairs spotlight three major themes: artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, digital entertainment, and the silver economy.
Exhibitors include technology companies from the Chinese Mainland, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, the United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. The HKTDC has also organised 120 buying missions from 61 countries and regions.
Professor Frederick Ma, chairman of the HKTDC, visited the fair to meet exhibitors and tour the new Hong Kong Tech Showcase. He said: “The HKTDC has consistently supported enterprises in going global, helping them with transformation and exploring new markets.
“We will continue to assist local small-and-medium-sized enterprises, while leveraging Hong Kong’s role as a superconnector and super value-adder.”
Robotics in focus
One of the highlights this year is RoboPark, where major robotics companies—including DEEP Robotics, BrainCo, DIGIT, PaXini Tech, and LimX Dynamics—are demonstrating humanoids, quadrupeds, and exoskeleton systems.
The space also features companies such as Unitree Robotics and Booster Robotics, which are presenting live demonstrations and sharing insights on the latest trends in embodied intelligence.
Hangzhou-based Ascentiz is among the exhibitors using the fair as a launch platform, introducing what it describes as the world’s first modular exoskeleton to enhance mobility for people with movement impairments.
Emerging technologies and start-ups
The RISE Avenue and Adventure Hub areas showcase emerging brands and immersive digital entertainment technologies.
Exhibitors are displaying products that integrate virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and AI – ranging from interactive gaming and simulation systems to smart home audio-visual devices.
The Tech Hall includes the new Hong Kong Tech Showcase, featuring about 40 local companies, while the Startup Zone hosts more than 90 entrepreneurs and innovators presenting solutions in AI, robotics, and digital transformation.
Supporting the ‘silver economy’
Products aimed at ageing populations are also on display, from smart walking sticks with GPS tracking to IoT-enabled pill dispensers and wearable health monitors.
Exhibitors offering such technologies are identified under a dedicated “Smart Ageing Products” label to help buyers navigate this growing market.
Forums and collaboration
Alongside the exhibitions, a series of forums and seminars are taking place. The 10th Symposium on Innovation & Technology, themed “Advancing Innovation Through Collaboration: Robotics Across Land, Sea, and Sky”, explored how robotics can drive innovation across logistics, ocean exploration, and industrial automation.
Other sessions include discussions on AI-powered inspection in construction and advances in battery and energy-storage technologies.
The fairs are being held in a hybrid format under the Exhibition+ model, combining in-person exhibitions with the HKTDC’s Click2Match smart business-matching platform to connect global buyers and exhibitors online.
Together, the two events underscore Hong Kong’s growing role as a regional hub for robotics, AI, and emerging technologies, while providing a global platform for innovation and cross-border collaboration.
