Robotics Plus showcases multi-use autonomous vehicle for orchards and vineyards

New Zealand-based agritech company Robotics Plus showcased its autonomous, multi-use, hybrid vehicle for agriculture – Prospr – at the recent FIRA USA event.

Designed to carry out a variety of orchard and vineyard crop tasks more efficiently and sustainably while reducing reliance on labor, Prospr was launched last year at FIRA, an event dedicated to autonomous agriculture and agricultural robotics solutions.

Picking the way to a better asparagus future with robotic harvesting

A robotic asparagus harvester project led by growers and supported by the Government is set to reinvigorate the New Zealand asparagus industry by alleviating ongoing labour challenges.

The New Zealand Asparagus Council and Tauranga-based Robotics Plus will work alongside New Zealand asparagus growers to develop a world-first commercial-scale autonomous robotic asparagus harvester to help address ongoing labour shortages in the industry and support growers to tap into high-value export markets.

Robotics Plus and its agricultural robotics recognised at technology awards

Robotics Plus has scooped two awards at New Zealand’s most prestigious technology awards, the 2019 NZ Hi-Tech Awards.

Robotics Plus’ robotic Āporo apple packer won the NZTE Most Innovative Hi-Tech Agritech Solution and the company was named Callaghan Innovation Hi-Tech Kamupene Māori o te Tau – Māori Company of the Year.

The awards capped off a successful 12 months for Robotics Plus, which included the launch of its first commercial products and an investment of $US8M from partner Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. (Japan), to bring its total investment to $US10M.

Yamaha Motor invests an additional $8 million in agritech startup Robotics Plus

Yamaha Motor has made a second investment of $8 million into an agricultural automation and robotics innovator, bringing its total investment to $10 million.

Robotics Plus, a New Zealand agricultural robotics and automation company, says it will use the investment support its “ambitious growth plans”.
