Hannover Messe is probably the world’s largest industrial technology trade show. It’s an annual event which last year attracted almost a quarter of a million visitors from around a hundred countries.

For its 6,000 or so exhibitors – which include all the leading industrial robotics and automation companies – Hannover Messe provides a platform to reach markets in virtually every country in the world.

The IIC, now incorporating OpenFog, is the single-largest organization focused on industrial internet of things, artificial intelligence, fog and edge computing.

Toyota and Panasonic agree to set up automotive prismatic batteries joint venture

Toyota and Panasonic Corporation have concluded a business-integration contract and a joint-venture contract toward the establishment of a new company (joint venture) related to the automotive prismatic battery business.

The details of the agreements are:

Toyota and Panasonic will establish a joint venture (pending approval from the competition-law authorities in the countries and regions concerned) by the end of 2020.

iRobot launches robotic lawnmower

iRobot, the company behind what is probably the leading robotic vacuum cleaner, has launched a robotic lawnmower. (See video below.)

The company claims to be “reinventing lawn care” with its Terra Robot Mower.

Mitsubishi Electric sets up Factory Automation Service Centre in Coimbatore, India

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will establish an India Coimbatore FA Centre in Coimbatore, in India’s Tamil Nadu State.

Scheduled to commence operations from February 1, the new facility will further strengthen the service network of the company’s factory automation (FA) products in India and facilitate expansion of its FA system business.

Located in the south of the country, Coimbatore is one of India’s major industrial centres, hosting companies active in the textile, automotive parts and IT sectors, all areas where demand for FA products and their related services is expected to increase.
