MachineMetrics partners with Robert E. Morris on smart manufacturing

MachineMetrics industrial internet platform is partnering with the Robert E. Morris company and Tsugami/Rem Sales to simulate a real-world manufacturing environment at 2018’s inaugural Smart Manufacturing Experience in Boston.

MachineMetrics says its industrial IoT platform is “generating some serious buzz”, and the three companies will showcase the solution together.

MachineMetrics CEO Bill Bither will join the Robert E. Morris company president, Lou Olson, for the event’s keynote presentation entitled, Dynamics of Change: Disruptive Technologies and CNC Machinery.

The presentation will discuss the benefits of applying the latest advanced manufacturing technologies and how early adopters of emerging technologies are improving productivity, part quality, and profitability.

Bother says: “A great deal of hesitancy still exists for manufacturers to embrace the technology that addresses the new challenges presented by digital transformation.

“With installing cloud-based monitoring systems being the first and perhaps most important step toward data-driven manufacturing, we designed MachineMetrics to help companies overcome these challenges and create a roadmap forward so they can take this initial and crucial step. We are proud to be developing the future of manufacturing alongside them.”

Despite producing the greatest amount of data of any industry in the US, manufacturing is the furthest behind any other global industry in their digital transformation efforts.

Aproximately 50 per cent of US manufacturers admit to not having a systematic roadmap or toolbox for easy rollout of digital manufacturing solutions, and over 15 per cent of all US manufacturers identify a lack of knowledge about suitable providers as their biggest obstacle.

Because no standard roadmap for digital manufacturing exists, many are often uncertain around where to start and what foundational capabilities are required to succeed.

MachineMetrics says today is “the internet moment” for manufacturing, and has made it the company’s mission to help manufacturers embrace the new opportunities created by these latest technologies.

To do this, the company says it has “revolutionised industrial IoT for the manufacturing sector”.

With simple “self-install” IIoT connectivity, MachineMetrics predictive analytics and machine learning platform allows manufacturers to harness, structure, and take action on this data, driving manufacturing efficiency by more than 20% on average for customers.

Now integrated into factories across North America and Europe, MachineMetrics is growing fast, having over 50 customers including Fastenal, Snap-On Tools, Gardner Denver, TurboCam, and Shiloh Automotive as well as partnerships with McKinsey and Co, SECO Tools and the Robert E. Morris company.

MachineMetrics was recently awarded “Smart Manufacturing Solution of the Year” by the committee at IoT Breakthrough, winner of the Massachusetts TechHub Caucus’ 2018 NextGen Technology Award, one of 20 tech-ecosystem partner by McKinsey for its Digital Manufacturing Growth Initiative, as well as a Top 10 Manufacturing Intelligence Solution Provider for 2017 by Manufacturing Technology Insights.

In its first year, the Smart Manufacturing Experience will be held at the Boston Convention Center in Boston, MA from April 30 to May 2, 2018, and the MachineMetrics team will be exhibiting their innovative software in the REMCO booth (#351), Tsugami/Rem Sales booth (#341), as well as their own dedicated booth (#623) for the duration of the show.
