42Q launches new IIoT cloud solution for manufacturers

March 16, 2018 by David Edwards

42Q, a provider of cloud manufacturing solutions, has released its Rapid IIoT Cloud Solution.

The company says the new solution “easily connects production equipment such as PLCs, SCADA servers, IIoT devices, smart sensors and more to 42Q’s cloud manufacturing platform”.

The Rapid IIoT Cloud Solution includes shop floor connectivity, real-time storage of factory data, statistical process control, and end-user analytics and reporting, all designed specifically to simplify digital factory transformation and implementation of the industrial internet of things.

Srivats Ramaswami, CTO, 42Q, says: “Manufacturers are convinced of the benefits IIoT technology brings.

“However, adoption has been slowed by the complexities and costs of acquiring and connecting new systems to legacy technology in the factory.

“The Rapid IIoT Cloud Solution simplifies and accelerates the deployment of shop floor connectivity, data collection and storage, as well as data visualization and analysis.

“Using the Rapid IIoT Cloud Solution, 42Q customers have realized these benefits in as little as six weeks.”

According to a study published by Genpact Research Institute, 82 percent of manufacturing executives think a critical part of their future success will be the adoption of IIoT technology and practices; however, that same study shows that less than 25% have plans for adoption and deployment of IIoT.

Stumbling blocks include long deployment times and demonstrating the return on investment from IIoT.

42Q’s Rapid IIoT Cloud Solution overcomes both of these problems. Customers can now connect, collect and analyze large amounts of factory data without investing significant amounts of capital for either hardware or software.

Ramaswami says: “Companies are clearly looking for immediate steps they can take that deliver both short-term return on investment and long-term transformational value.

“Connecting assets in your factory to intelligent systems in the cloud is a foundational step towards the promise of IIoT, and that’s what the Rapid IIoT Cloud Solution delivers.”

42Q’s cloud-based MES solution operates between an enterprise resource planning system and the manufacturing equipment in a factory, enabling implementation of a smart factory and Industry 4.0.

42Q says its software helps manufacturers more easily cross traditional boundaries of automation, engineering, operations and IT.

Currently deployed in more than 60 factories worldwide, 42Q’s proven, scalable solution allows organizations to eliminate the lengthy infrastructure acquisition and configuration process, and deploy the solution for immediate benefit.

The Rapid IIoT Cloud Solution is available immediately. For more information, please visit Rapid IIoT.
