bosch eGo automated parking 3

This is what stress-free parking will look like in the future: pull up, step out of the car, pull out your smartphone, and use an app to tell your car to go park.

This future will arrive in Aachen before the year is out, when the new parking garage for the production engineering cluster on the RWTH Aachen campus, built by Immofinanz in 2018, is equipped with Bosch automated valet parking.

Now Bosch and the Aachen-based automaker e.Go have agreed to collaborate on this.  [Read more…] about Smart cities: Bosch and e.Go bring free automated parking to Aachen, Germany

5 Ways Marketers Are Using AI to Automate Boring Research Tasks

May 29, 2025 by Mai Tao

Let’s be honest: when I first started in marketing, I thought I’d spend my days dreaming up clever campaigns and analyzing big wins. Instead, I found myself knee-deep in spreadsheets, copy-pasting competitor prices, and sorting through endless customer comments.

Turns out, I’m not alone – recent stats show the average marketer spends up to 6 hours a day on routine research tasks like tracking competitors, compiling feedback, and building lead lists. That’s a lot of time not spent on the creative, strategic work we actually signed up for.

But here’s the good news: AI tools for marketing teams are flipping the script. With 75 percent of marketers now using AI to cut down on manual tasks, and 88 percent relying on AI in their day-to-day roles, it’s clear that AI marketing automation isn’t just a trend – it’s the new normal. Can robots learn from ‘machine dreams’?

November 12, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Scientists from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory used AI-generated images to train a robot dog in parkour, without real-world data.

Parkour is a non-competitive physical discipline where participants move through an environment using their bodies to overcome obstacles – basically like navigating an obstacle course.

CSAIL’s LucidSim system demonstrates the potential of GenAI – generative AI, or generative AI – for creating relevant robotics training data, enabling expert-level performance in complex tasks like obstacle navigation and stair climbing. [Read more…] about Can robots learn from ‘machine dreams’?

Robotics: A Global Industrial Policy Competition

September 10, 2024 by Mark Allinson

By Marc Fasteau and Ian Fletcher

This article is extracted from the robotics case study in Industrial Policy for the United States: Winning the Competition for Good Jobs and High-Value Industries by Marc Fasteau and Ian Fletcher.

The book argues that in order to compete for economic and political power, America must adopt a three-pronged approach to industrial policy that encompasses tariffs and trade; manufacturing and innovation support; and a strategy to bring down the overvaluation of the dollar.

David P. Goldman calls the “standard reference work on industrial policy in the foreseeable future” in a recent American Conservative article. The book is on sale through Cambridge University Press from September 30, 2024.

In addition, information for safety guidelines, asset tracking, or manufacturing data can be embedded in them.

The metals that are used often include iron, stainless steel, aluminum, zinc alloy, tin, copper, and more. The plates can be created through methods such as etching, printing, stamping, electroplating, drop plastic, wire drawing, and other processes.

You can have customized nameplates made and designed according to your specifications. Metal Marker Manufacturing provides more information about metal nameplates and how you can have yours made with custom specifications. [Read more…] about Metal Nameplates: What Are Their Uses?
