Berkshire Grey confirms acquisition interest from SoftBank

February 13, 2023 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Berkshire Grey, a provider of AI-enabled robotic solutions that automate supply chain processes, has confirmed that it has received a non-binding indication of interest from SoftBank Group to acquire all of the outstanding capital stock of the company for $1.30 per share in cash.

Given that Berkshire Grey has more than 230 million shares outstanding, that would make the offer worth approximately $300 million. Bloomberg, meanwhile, says he deal would be worth $218 million.

The terms of any potential agreement between Berkshire Grey and SoftBank would be contingent on certain conditions, including completion of due diligence review and negotiation of definitive transaction documents. [Read more…] about Berkshire Grey confirms acquisition interest from SoftBank

Carbon Robotics adds LaserThinning capability to its LaserWeeder

February 13, 2023 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Carbon Robotics, an AI and robotics company specializing in agriculture, has introduced what it says is “the industry’s first LaserThinning capability”, continuing the “rapid innovation” of its LaserWeeder system.

LaserThinning targets areas where vegetable crops are purposefully overseeded and then thinned for optimal crop spacing, growth and yield. This is particularly valuable for farmers growing any direct seeded leafy green and cole crops – such as lettuce and broccoli.

By using lasers for thinning, the new solution does not require the use of any chemicals or manual hand labor, is unaffected by wind or moisture, and can be performed during the day or night. [Read more…] about Carbon Robotics adds LaserThinning capability to its LaserWeeder

How to Bond Rubber to Aluminum

How to Glue Rubber to Aluminum

The gluing rubber to aluminum procedure is easier than it might sound. Starting with the best and cleanest surface is a good idea. This will help ensure that the glue sticks well and that the finished product won’t have any issues.

For this project, you can use a variety of glues, but some are better for certain materials than others. For instance, if you are working with rubber, you should use an adhesive made for this material. A general-purpose adhesive should be adequate for use with aluminum.

Utilizing an aluminum-specific adhesive and ensuring that both surfaces are clean are the best ways to adhere the rubber to aluminum. [Read more…] about How to Bond Rubber to Aluminum
