September 30, 2022 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Businesses implementing the Omron LD-250 autonomous mobile robot (AMR) now have a powerful new option to dramatically increase payload without having to invest in a larger, more expensive AMR solution.

The ROEQ solution with the new TMC500 top module and Cart500 developed for the Omron LD-250, not only doubles the AMR payload, it also provides a standardized, safe, and flexible solution for internal logistics tasks.

Kyle Hable, group product manager, Omron Robotics and Safety Technologies, says: “This exciting new relationship with ROEQ gives our customers access to fast and cost-effective options for their toughest mobile automation initiatives. Locus granted patent for machine learning models to ‘accurately predict traffic time’ for last-mile deliveries

September 30, 2022 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Locus, a logistics software technology company (not to be confused with Locus Robotics), has been awarded a patent for “Machine Learning Models for Predicting Time in Traffic”, the second patent awarded to the company in 2022.

Predictability of last-mile deliveries is a logistical challenge that continues to affect businesses across various sectors such as e-commerce, 3PLs, and so on.

Locus’ new patent will enable enterprises to achieve better precision in their last-mile deliveries by factoring in traffic patterns, which have historically been considered too dynamic to map. Lyft plans ‘fully autonomous future’ as it starts driverless car rides to customers in Austin, Texas

September 30, 2022 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Riders in Austin, Texas can now select an autonomous vehicle in the Lyft app to help them get around their city.

This marks the first time that a commercial autonomous service is available in Austin, Texas and marks the third city where Lyft riders can hail an autonomous ride along with Miami, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Most people’s first autonomous vehicle experience will be on a ride hailing network like Lyft. For riders in Austin, this new ride mode looks just like any other Lyft ride. Riders can hail an autonomous vehicle (a Ford self-driving car powered by Argo AI technology) directly in the Lyft app for the same price as a normal Lyft ride.
