ATI partners with 3M to present webinar about material removal tools

ATI Industrial Automation and 3M will co-present a free webinar, Three Pillars of Successful Material Removal, on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 12pm ET.

The event, hosted by the Robotics Industries Association, will identify key concepts for successful robotic material removal.

The presentations by Dan Merritt, ATI’s material removal product manager, and Sarah Mullins, 3M global applications engineer, will feature real-world examples of the benefits of robotic material removal and illustrate how common challenges are overcome with the right application design.

Through the webinar, ATI and 3M will demonstrate how a comprehensive understanding of your process can help you choose the best equipment and abrasives for the job.

In addition to best practices for robotic material removal, the webinar will also touch on advancements in robotic tooling and abrasives technology.

Among these advancements is a diverse selection of new material removal and passive compliance offerings from ATI that serve a variety of deburring, grinding, filing, and flash removal operations.

Each of these new tools offers users a safe and effective option for automating material removal tasks and improving process quality.

Recently, ATI expanded its Radially-Compliant products to include the CRT-12-5 Compliant Reciprocating Tool for filing and finishing operations, and the RCV-490 Radially-Compliant Tool for use with carbide burrs, flap wheels and an array of industry standard media.

The reciprocating file design of the CRT-12-5 minimizes chatter and efficiently removes material on hard-to-reach areas. The robust RCV-490 offers users strength and versatility. The breadth of media options allows them to perform a range of deburring techniques with one tool.

ATI dives deeper into material removal processes with new solutions for force control and adjustable speed precision deburring.

The new PCFC Passive Compliant Force Control Device provides an open platform to incorporate passive compliance into applications that use rigid material removal tools.

The pneumatically actuated device mimics the responsiveness of a manual process while eliminating hazards to workers.

The RCE-710 Radially Compliant Electric Tool is a complete electric deburring package that also includes an easy-to-use controller and cabling.
